Am I dumb or this is actually complicated?

So right now I'm four episodes into this season which is like only two cases, and I'd be lying if i said i understood perfectly how Ranbo solved these two cases or how the criminals committed their crimes. There have been several times where I was like wtf are they talking about?? or just whatever they said straight up doesn't make sense. Don't get me wrong, is not like i got nothing out of these four episodes ofcourse not, i might know the main idea or the overview of the episode/case but I'm talking about the Little details within the episode i just found it Hard to follow. So i just wanted to know did you guys had the same problem or was it an easy watch for you?

tbh this whole season is pretty rushed in the anime, the manga is much more thorough. I can understand the confusion because of that, this 5th season also kinda skims over Rampo's solving (and since when I read it I could flip back and forth to fully understand which you can't do in anime)
Basically Rampo is just very good, I can't remember specifics because it's been so long even though I absolutely love that mini arc and it might be my favourite in the manga

The case here is actually complicated.... there have been so much information put down altogether that it did sometimes feel like bruh wth is happening??.... but if you watch the scene multiple times u would understand it 👍🏻

Just keep rewinding the scenes, cause way much info is given in really small time, as Rampo said, “everyone else is a child.” BSD has a complex and rather unique plot and Rampo is one of them. He is solving the case as he keeps seeing the information before him and just keeps processing it. I had to like stop and rewind and stop and rewind all the time in this season cause they tried pack so many things here!

Sometimes going back and listening to the explanation the character gives helps. I sometimes go on the BSD wiki and just read the episode and that sometimes also helps clarify what's happening. It's on of those shows where I understand enough what's going on but if you ask me to explain I probably wouldn't know how to.

Its complicated for shounen. if you start looking into more avant garde stuff this will seem like dragonball in comparison.
flcl, texhnolyze, lain, steins gate, ergo proxy, shinsekai yori etc

the case is very complicated and the Anime skipped many parts of it, if you read the light novel you will understand more. a lot of things were taken out in the anime, so that's why you didn't grasp it.

It's somewhat complicated. It's not just about this season when While watching the previous seasons I didn't pay much attention and was lazy minded, I didn't understood much in s2.

That’s unnecessary and you are wrong… the anime does explain things but a lot of what happens and how it does is explained later in the season.

If you’re interested i would recommend reading the light novel that these episodes are based on because it is a lot more detailed and I just find it easier to follow than the anime because of how fast-paced it is

I think its actually kinda complicated.. Is a little confuse if you don't get everything and every information right on spot yk? And normally in bsd it's what happens. I haven't read the Manga but most say its less confusing, more explicit and better than the anime so yeah

It's not you, the pacing is just sloppy. And the detective scenes make no logical sense. Basically Randou just pulls some bullshit explanation because he's a GeNiUs.

I've had to rewatch the whole show 3 times to keep up with what's actually happening (partly due to watching at work and not fully paying attention) and I still think to really understand everything the manga and light novels are the best way, but I love the show so much I absolutely don't mind watching it over and over personally 😂

I haven’t read the novel, but the anime doesn’t give you a chance to solve the mysteries. What I like about mysteries is that you’re given the clues early on and when they’re finally all together, you go “Ooooooh! That makes sense!”. Sometimes you can even solve it yourself before the end, but this show doesn’t do that. We were never shown how Ranpo looked at the shoe prints last season or how he knew to check the cane and why. Doesn’t matter, it’s all about progressing the story and watching the characters react. Basically, no, you’re not dumb.
