| This is by far my favorite episode, Everyone shut up for once plus they did improve some of the characters with adding extra dimensions. Also the jumpscares in the backstories actually scuttled me a bit. |
| This is a really polarizing episode and I can say the same for the anime as well. I personally really liked the storytelling here and the backstories. The shitty, corrupt priest who's always virtue-signaling in public but is actually a filthy shitcase off screen is something you'll see all too often in real life if you go looking for it. The poor girl getting bullied and traumatized is a common occurrence in Japan especially cause they don't take bullying seriously at all and never punish bullies cause it "breaks the peace". That guy's presentation had me cringing in my chair. I've fucked up before at work and I had to quit out of embarrassment. The guy struggling with his height and his insecurities was also hitting too close to home for me. I know there's way too many characters in this show for me to care about all of them. MHA had this exact same problem but it was a loooot longer at close to 150 episodes where they took the time to flesh out a lot of the side characters in their class. There's no chance of that happening here. 5/5 I still like this anime even though it's a little lost and supernatural survivor shows typically don't perform well in this medium. |
