| Man, this chapter really got to me. As I've grown older, I can better understand what Shota's mother was going through. Naturally, the abuse was indefensible. But I know how frustrating it is to lose sight of what's important and suddenly find oneself trapped in a vicious cycle of doing things that constantly lead to self-loathing & regret. I've come to realize that there's a difference between knowing something logically and truly understanding it in your heart. That's why I'm glad to see Sho's mother had a change of heart and is taking definitive steps to do right by her son. |
