| Interesting, just got to this series (trying to watch 6 episodes of newly aired series takes quite a while, lol, stupid PC broke a while back, trying to catch up) . Tho... it feels like this is just another "saving gold in another world" plot... where the MC travels between both world and do stuff... while this is interesting, but I do hope this one will have a better story than that other one. (I dropped that other one after episode 4 or 5) And hopefully it won't be TOO generic... . BTW, the MC's voice doesn't not really fit the "chubby" body at the beginning, as a Chubby body's voice has a fairly nasal sounding voice due to the vocal cord being pushed down by fat. This is not stereotyping, it's an actual scientific fact. But anyways... the anime DOES start out with people stereotyping and discrimating against chubby people, sad but true. However these type of thing doesn't happen that often anymore due to new age movements on anti-bullying. Tho I am not really sure about Japan, since Japan is still big on the "Yakuza" things, so they have a LOT of delinquents. I do feel the frustration on being bullied and trying to get through life. (since I did also get bullied in most of my school life, except I am not chubby, I was small and skinny like a goblin) . And yea... I also cries when I see my weakass stat in video games compared to whales... Too bad I don't have any "cheat skills" eh... BTW... how does he have all these Godly weapons in the first place, in fact... who used to live in that room? Was his parents legendary heroes? lol... Instead of "cheat skill" It's more like "cheat items"... if he didn't have those weapons, I am pretty sure he won't really get anywhere. This is the literal start of the series... since the MC wouldn't have gotten anywhere without finding this random room already filled with god weapons. . Also, we got the "spiderman" treatment huh... where his body "adjusts" to his new found powers... Also... even if you can't see your own face, I am pretty sure you can see your other parts of the body... such as your friking thin arms and legs... does this guy not go to the bathroom at all during that entire time before school? Also also... this dude already "got the girl" LUL... This is starting to get pretty generic. |

| Some good animation and feels like a combination of solo leveling and lookism. Can't believe this is from the same author as 'Fruit of evolution', but I got the feeling it will be more of a wish fulfillment generic isekai considering the mc became overpowered and handsome overnight without much effort (shoutout to grandpa for his inheritance) |

| I liked it! Feels like people are greatly misunderstanding this anime. It's not a power fantasy, at least so far, but a classic rags to riches story. These stories often come with a moral lesson. A thematic message. Additionally, all extraordinary gifts are well explained and even paid for. Meaning, well justified. Everything feels an organic part of the world. Inheritance is as old as the creation of mankind. To inherit something is a natural occurrence. To criticize the inheritance plot in this anime but to accept the "out of the blue" plots in others ("the TV spoke to me" or "I was just chosen") is not only hypocritical but highly ignorant. Besides, as I already said, the inheritance came with a price. He was literally abandoned by his parents because of the inheritance. Furthermore, highlighting the end of this episode. The girl came to him purely based on his actions BEFORE the discovery of his inheritance. Again, this is all well justified. It makes sense and is an organic part of the story and world that was presented. Also true in this case, he paid a price for helping the girl. Why am I highlighting the "paid price" for everything good? Because it proves that it's not a power fantasy. Everything comes with a price in this anime. Even that which wouldn't have needed to, like the inheritance, for example. People throw around buzz words without even knowing what they mean. Perhaps people have an issue with this anime not because it's badly written, a power fantasy, or any other made-up reason, but simply because they hate seeing a loser turn into a winner. Especially through a combination of merit AND inheritance. To those people I say, watch something else, and question your own character. |
