| Most the people I've talked to when it comes to this series either hated it with every fiber in their being or they adored every part of it. Now myself personally felt like it had it's high points like the ops and eds as well as some moments and messages, but at the same time also have my criticisms on it. | Everything after Episode 16 is the usual trigger BS I've come to know and accept, before that it was pretty good, though it did feel like a second rate rip off of Evangelion and Gurren Lagann at times. But when they started going to space out of no where, I just couldn't wrap my head around it. |
| First 21 or something episodes were fucking beautiful and the last three made me wanna bleach my brain cause it was just so bad. |
| This anime is just super robot mecha which incorporated sexual fanservices and romance as part of the plot, Nothing groundbreaking, just another anime which is trying to be unique in its own way. |

| I never understood the hate. Sure, the final episodes didn't have the polish and meticulous writing and cohesion as the rest of the series, but it's not like it was trash. It went from amazing to good. I think it's a solid watch and a really good addition to the mech genre. |
| Having tried to analyze it objectively with a cool head, I’ve come to a conclusion that it’s a complete rip-off of Evangelion (for the most part) and, as other people claim but I can’t say for sure, Guren Lagann. At times, Trigger has gone as far as copying the Evangelion episodes entirely, including the contents of the dialogues (the episode, in which the story reveals us the past of Dr. Franxxx is 100% identical to the one in Eva, which tells us about Gendo’s past). On top of that, there’s no real character development, but instead there’s some kind of schizophrenia going on with their personalities. For instance, when Zero Two starts off as an asshole, then suddenly becomes super cute, then turns into a yandere, who’s ready to wipe out anyone if it’s for the sake of her “beloved one”, then she becomes cute again and so on. That’s not a development but just an inconsistency, giving off an impression that the playwright hadn’t even re-read their own script to avoid plotholes when making a new episode. Same goes for every other character: either they have no development at all, or it’s simply not a development, but rather some kind of drug trip. As for a series that was produced by several studios at the same time, to say that the animation quality was mediocre is to say nothing. And, most importantly, this anime claims to be a mecha, and yet the mecha elements get very little screen time. Of course, there are much more flaws in addition to the ones I’ve mentioned above, but pointing them all out would take an eternity, so I’ll just stop here. |
