Does anyone else feel like that this show's biggest problem is that a majority of its run time is the irl stuff. It feels like every ep is 10-14 mins irl and 5 minutes isekai.

The isekai section isnt even bad, but theres literally so little focus, especially since the interesting story is the iskeai, and the irl is a slice of life. This means that the show is literally cucking itself. The isekai has stakes, kind of interesting characters, yet we have 5 minutes of content every epsiode

In total, the total run time of the iseaki probably equalivent to 2 or 3 epsiodes

Proof that the iskeai section is going too slow is the fact the mc met the Princess like 5 eps ago, and is now finally starting to go to the castle. That shouldve happened ages ago

I can assume the studio doesnt have enough isekai content and thats why the pacing is so slow for the irl section. Hopefully they switch the focus around

Can’t agree with your take. The “IRL” isn’t slice of life. The storyline is very relevant to the main character’s motivation. Almost everything he does in the other world is to power him up for the world he lives in.

Now, if you don’t like that, I can understand and would say it’s not for you. There are many anime that aren’t for me, I get it, but I don’t think this aspect of this anime is bad because of this.

Note, the execution is another matter. It does happen that anime adaptations don’t do Justice to the original source. I won’t argue that point.

No, that it took five episodes before he went to the castle only shows that the anime is not rushing. It was supposed to take a while before he went there. And again, your point that the show is bad because it spends so much time in the MC’s home world is silly. First, it’s not IRL vs Isekai. Both works are fantasy worlds.
Second it never promised Joe time works be split between the two works. Unless I missed an announcement. Third, this is good, because of him escaping his tortured life and never resolving anything, he gets to improve his life there as well.

U r right.
Like how luna's character is more like a warrior in anime where she doesn't get embarrassed that easily whereas in manga she is more normal in that respect, how she can get embarrassed like a normal shy girl(normal in terms of anime).

The "death stare" of the "bikers attach school" episode has me the most disappointed, which says a lot, considering that all action scenes are pure CG, and I was even ready to accept that

@Jeevzsk
This is the creator for Shinka no Mi. I don't think it worth your time questioning the writing when the previous work is kinda all over the place.

btw idk why ppl above said manga adaptation but this is clearly a LN adaptation. See mal db. manga =/= LN

You're right, I don't understand what the author wants with his work. even though this anime genre is action, but somehow it's more like a harem than action.

p.s dari judulnya aja ketara action bgt padahal :(

The anime is bad, well, actually the right wording would be "the story is bad in general". Someone above mentioned that both worlds are fantasy worlds, and I gotta agree. Dude went from an overweight, bullied, shy and tortured kid to a 13/10 jacked, 8 pack, model-like handsome with some type of girl magnet inside of him. Everyone on the street turns around and is blasted with his greatness, making him some type of Jesus. Haven't seen a single episode where the situation wasn't staged by the author to just boost MC popularity with girls. I think cringest example was when he was in the mall shopping for some clothes and the whole model story happened. Author created a new pointless character, who's whole purpose was to make MC look amazing and for the girl model to fall in love with him. Who on earth tries to force themselves into another human, while there's hundreds of people around, with all of them straight up observing the situation, and on top of that being a really popular influencer? Literally senseless. It was so stupid. The biker school accident was ridiculous, felt like something taken out of 90' gangster anime lmao, it was so out of place and made it one of the cringest stories in isekai existence. The bear situation was comedic, felt like an actual comedic relief, dude wrestled a bear and everyone around him is like "yeah bro thats normal, people do that all the time xD". Nobody questions him. A hot teacher falls in love with a 16 year old and tries to f**k the guy and everyone is like "ah darn ur silly, dont fall for a 16yo, u cant, ur a teacher! oh no! ur motorboating him with ur b**bies, noooooooooo", while doing absolutely nothing apart from that 1 girl trying to move MC. It was literal comedy, but in cringest way possible. I could keep going infinitely.

Literally only good part of this anime is the isekai fantasy world with magic. His fights are far from being nicely animated (It's CGI, but decent CGI), but they are far more interesting than his IRL world. I get he has trauma, but lmao. It's just cringe. It's incredibly slow, which on the contrary, I don't think is really a bad thing, but this anime is prob 12 or 13 episodes, so we are basically getting 0 actual story, given the pacing.

Now kinda to the point as to WHY. The why is because author did not have an idea for a story. She had an idea for the gimmick, like the part that might suck people into the manga (2 worlds, dude going from fat to jacked), but there's just nothing else. IRL world is basically MC being OP, everyone falling in love with him, and his 6-pack & magic saving everyone all the time. Fantasy world has that fenrir dog (who's quite cool) and 400 level goblin fighting 90% of the time. I will wait with full fantasy part judgement until the castle visit in next episode (I hope so, but I have a feeling that it's gonna get dragged on once again), but it will very likely be as disappointing as the rest of the story.

Now someone might ask me why am i watching it if i dislike so much about it? I'm a trash isekai enjoyer, fully aware of how cringe that sounds, and I just like to watch bad isekai animes. They just hit the right spot of when you just wanna watch something cringe, but have it blast magic spells and have OP mc just for the simplest fun.

While what you are saying is true, I don't find anything wrong with the irl stuff.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

i think the main point of this series is IRL part, bcs its like what will you do if you can go to isekai then boost (or maybe maxed out) your level and also your statistic is works in real life too.
But i also agree with you, the isekai section going too slow

I disagree with your perspective.

Read the title, “ I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too “.

So far the anime has focused more on the real world, with the isekai sections happening periodically, since like the title of the anime, it is trying to show how isekai abilities affect his life in the real world.

This show is not your normal isekai. It does not transport the MC to another world, instead the MC is granted access to a completely unknown world that he has to learn about all by himself, so it makes sense that this would take time, especially since he also has a real world life that he continues, which is also used as a social commentary on the actual real world, dealing with different significant issues.

The anime compares before and after the MC’s physical appearance changes, as well as the difference between his good character vs other peoples’ bad characters.

The anime shows a girl in danger, while everyone else is oblivious to what’s happening or purposely staying away to avoid trouble, the MC steps in to help her, fully knowing that he was putting himself in danger and that he could do nothing to fight the thugs. His actions save the girl before the police come, yet he does not stay to receive praise or reward, he leaves injured but happy that she was not harmed.

The anime shows how bad the MC was treated based only on his physical appearance, by his own family, the kids at school, the world, and how only his grandpa loved and helped him in his life.

Then the anime shows how after his physical appearance changed, people treated him better based only on that, revealing how shallow the world is, but a few people get to know the MC and his good character (new school students and the modeling group), which is contrasted with people that have terrible characters (old school students and blonde model).

The anime shows how even after the physical changes, the MC’s innocent humble kind caring brave courageous character does not change, he does not become proud, arrogant, or conceited, he does not take advantage with his new abilities, he treats everyone like he would want to be treated, he protects those he cares about and helps those in danger.

The anime shows the MC overcome his emotional / mental hindrances from past traumatic experiences, to grow into a stronger more confident hero that faces danger head on and uses his new abilities in order to help others in danger and those he cares about.

The anime shows how the MC’s good character affects people, like the twins in his family, who previously treated the MC terribly, but after he saves their lives and shows love toward them, despite their treatment of him, they leave with with a totally changed heart, realizing their wrong, and gaining new better perspectives and characters.

All these episodes have been enjoyable to watch if you pay attention to what the author(s) are trying to convey to the audience about real world issues, with the help of “isekai” abilities thrown in.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

what you find interesting and what eomeone else finds interesting may be different. If you don't like the non issekai stuff that's fine. but it doesn't mean the author made a mistake. it just means you don't like it.

Dude … it is an anime … it is also an isekai …

… your complaints are illogical since nothing about these can be described as “normal”, even when it’s the “real world”.

They are made to be unrealistic and fantastical.

And you are not realizing that this is really a social commentary, with an Isekai story mixed in, it is not about the fantasy world, it is about the real world.

I've completely given up on the plot and just watch it to make fun of the fact that something dangerous always happens when the main character is around. don't get me started on the eye sore that is the character design. overall it's still watchable tho

I barely thrashed it tho? I said i enjoyed the isekai section and theres literally no focus. The last ep was like 18 mins irl, 5 mins isekai. The show would be better if it was reversed imo

Rather than the problem being that not enough time is devoted to the isekai portion, I think the problem is that the real-life portion isn't interesting enough to carry itself and the isekai portion's hard carrying.

It's certainly got the wish fulfillment part down in the real-life section, but it doesn't hold up to even a mid-tier slice of life anime and instead needs to keep forcefully cramming in as much wish fulfillment as possible. Isekai on the other hand is notoriously hard to screw up, so it's going super strong.

IRL stuff hard carries the show, i prefer seeing it than a dumbass generic isekai story that everyone has see 1,000,000 times.
