| The live action sequences were cool, it stopped just when pink hair guy appeared. For some reason Momoka has the Penguin alien helmet and told the story to the brothers when they were kids, I don't understand what that means but it's Penguindrum. Let's let it was fun. |

| I was also unsure what the significance of the new footage with Momoka telling the story to the child versions of the brothers was supposed to be. After digging around in the fan wiki a bit to jog my memory of the original series, I think it may have to do with this entry (https://penguindrum.fandom.com/wiki/Penguin_Drum): So my guess is that this movie is supposed to be Momoka (now with a penguin hat) telling the story of Mawaru Penguindrum to the versions of Kanba and Shoma who now never existed, due to them sacrificing themselves at the end to reset everything. I think Momoka is wearing a penguin hat because the two penguin hats were originally each halves of Momoka's soul, which were created when she was cursed by Sanetoshi Watase (the pink-haired villain guy). The two halves of her soul are presumably reunited now after Kanba and Shoma reset everything. Momoka's new penguin hat kind of looks like a fusion of the two original penguin hats.  |
| Well, it's a decent summary yet the way the events were shown didn't leave much time to think about the overall mystery, plus, some of the details that were left out make the story feel more rushed. The original series had the problem of being too slow paced, but here the pacing feels too fast. Now onto the new scenes. They were an awesome addition and I love to see the B side of the story. So far it seems to explain what was happening behind the scenes with Momoka and the baby penguin. I wonder how will these end in the second part. The only thing I don't like though is that there were no efforts to fix the badly drawn scenes that were in EP 10 which is a real shame. Finally I'd like to say that Arakawa Miho's performance as Himari and The Princess of Crystal has drastically improved compared to the original series. The SEIZON SENRYAKU feels more genuine and I love it. |
