Greetings.

I would greatly appreciate any help finding similar shows. Tried looking at recommendations but those are scetchy at best and usually do not cover less well known shows.

If you like the science vs. magic aspect, you’d probably enjoy the Toaru series (although it’s a huge commitment and deciding on the watch order was a pain (my watch order was: A Certain Scientific Railgun -> A Certain Scientific Railgun S -> A Certain Magical Index -> A Certain Scientific Accelerator -> A Certain Magical Index II -> A Certain Magical Index: Endymion Movie -> A Certain Magical Index III 1-6 -> A Certain Scientific Railgun T -> A Certain Magjcal Index III 7 ))

In case you want something that’s REALLY similar Outbreak Company would probably be a good one (I haven’t watched it myself though and I don’t think it has the full scale military battles that GATE has)

Additionally, Zero no Tsukaima and World Trigger are both about gates connecting two worlds

If you like modern weaponry vs medieval people/magic users you might like “Those Who Hunt Elves”

Saving 80k Gold last season channeled GATE pretty hard, especially toward the end.

But you'll probably need to be more specific about which aspects appealed the most to you. Lots of anime will have specific aspects but not necessarily the whole package.

GATE has been a favorite of mine for a long time, but sadly I haven't come across an anime like it since.
If I had to find one, I would say 'Knights & Magic', which leans heavier into the isekai elements but definitely fits the bill as a Fantasy Mecha where to main cast uses ideas/tactics from modern times to fight in the fantasy world.

I honestly don't think its a great rec coming from GATE, but then again, I don't think there are many good recs you'll get coming from GATE. As far as anime go (that I know), theres not much like it.

That being said, if the idea is fantasy monsters in the modern world, Digimon Tamers was pretty fun. Though I recognize that once again, that barely fits the bill.

I would say Re:Creators is a bit similar but instead of us going to them it’s them coming to us in a weird twisty way. Highly recommend the anime as it is action packed and story driven.
