Sorry if this is a dumb question (or if the answer was already implied in Ep9 or earlier), but are we gonna be more or less stuck with the loop of „haha Mahiro does funny stuff because he has to pretend to be a girl” or will we eventually progress to a point where he will 100% permanently become a girl, from a personality standpoint too and all?

Just to be clear, I am not complaining about the show itself or anything else regarding it in general, I like it and I find it to be fun to watch, but I just want to know what kind of expectations I should set for the plot as it progresses further and further.

Mahiro gets more and more girly as time goes on but i wouldn’t say he gets to a 100% girl point

Since it's a SoL there's not a lot of things happening and it's mostly the same SoL things that you can see everywhere
But it's enjoyable if you like them

Mahiro seems to start to fit in more and do more girly stuff, but the manga doesn’t abandon the gimmick and other kind of shenanigans regarding the gimmick do pop up. I think holding off that one story until later in the season kind of messes with the flow of the story a bit. Kind of hard to say what it is without spoiling anything. I personally think things are progressing in the manga, albeit slowly and subtly. But I could be seeing something there that isn’t because of wishful thinking.

It's pretty much the same. Mahiro chooses to stay as a girl at times because the drug wears off tho. But the joke Mahiro was a male now female is still the premise of the manga.

So far status quo remains the same and nothing seems that Mahiro will decide to officially transition.

It's the whole gimmick of the manga, Mahiro never goes full girl but starts to adjust into it. It's nothing like what you're thinking

That’s good to hear. That premise is fun to watch so I’m glad to hear that it will stay there.

Thanks for the answers everyone!

hmmm not at all i think, more characters shows up. however, The history follows at a slow speed and looks like a loop of nothing important happening

having literally just caught up with the manga, I'd say Mahiro definitely progresses more and more throughout the story, but at the point where it is now hasn't fully accepted that Mahiro likes being a girl
there are a few moments where, without spoiling, Mahiro willingly decides to stay a girl as the drug wears off, and mahiro seems to be very happy with how things are. if/when the manga ends, that's when I think we'll see full acceptance, but for now it's just slow progression towards it
