If I remember correctly Haruki never had a crush on Sakura
But their relationship eventually grew into romance as far as I understood. The letter basically says if out loud tbh, or at least that's what I like to believe.

Honestly, I just see this as an aroace anime. While it may not be canon, I think it’s a plausible headcanon.

That description is obviously wrong lol

And as for their relationship, it just felt too pure for me to easily give it a label of romance or friendship, so yeah I understand what you mean

I guess so, I like to think that if Sakura never had the disease they’d become a couple, considering Sakura said she had her eye on Haruki even before the diary incident

I agree, I think the context as to why they became “friends” and Sakura’s entire situation made their dynamic complicated and impossible to put in simple terms

it makes me sad that I'm not in groups like you....cause I literally wasn't that sad while I completed YLA
I don't know why it didn't hit the way you guys felt

but I'm in love with Your Name.....It took me one year to get over from it.....even as a grown up

the Netflix description is wrong. I watched the movie many times and never thought that he had a crush on her. You could maybe think that at some points in the movie, but ig it's more than friendship but not really love either. Hard to describe

It's emotionally draining. I totally agree.
If you like this movie and this genre, and have good music taste, YLIA is a must watch.
It has ascendant music, great characters, emotional damage of course, a really fulfilling closure.
It's great. Trust me and watch it ❤️.
We will talk and cry again together.
