As good as this story is, it feels off somehow. Things don't really fit.

The "twist of fate" that somehow brought a boy and a killer together to switch bodies and bring the man who killed their parent's death to justice is potentially great,
but in the end it doesn't feel worthwhile for how awkward the execution is, and how underwhelming each of their finale is.

The killer feels love once more from the boy's little sister. Something he only felt from his mother, even though she was abusive.
While the boy is now living healthily with his sister, his mother is in prison, surving time for child neglect, even if it was time investigating her husband's killer.

On idea, it's not bad, but the end has a lot of random reveals, while a lot of development was lackluster, and some actions are implausible.

A ghost hitman who's a master stealth artist with an infamous neck break technique as his method for killing. Why was his mother abusive. Why was she killed. Arguably meaningless answers for the story, but his development to suddenly sacrifice himself to save Minato was weak.
As an abused poor kid turned killer... to be caring and cherish love after only a few days of being in a child's body... with what was briefly shown feels too weak.

Minato and Nagisa's mother to have no hint of what exactly she was doing before the ending. It's acceptable due to them being children who wouldn't be able to learn that for certain early, but I don't get that random explanation of her being kidnapped by the cop, and Nagisa apparently being the priest goddess of this random religion where the cop planned to escape with their mother, because, apparently, it also seems he loved her...

Then there's the actions of plots, Minato never killing, being lucky, not getting caught, child care never arriving... a lot of it is implausible.
Overall, it feels awkward. Worst is the explanation in the finale of the epilogue though, let alone it being disappointing with the mother being in prison and the killer Toji dying.
I guess the message of life is that he deserves it, with no redemption needed more than what he just did or whatever, but it's kinda disappointing to not see more from him afterwards if he had lived since he started caring in the end.

Although, there's too many flaws. Their instincts and dreams of the body was intriguing also, but this supernatural and everything else was poorly done. 4/10.

Disappointing, from the Mangaka of Erased. This may have been rushed, but still. Too much into it from its length which created a mess that could have been better developed.
