| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- 1) she had no reason to chase her into the ocean, 2) being light is an obvious weak point and there was no point in not mentioning it to her 3) if she had been doing leg sweeps and other balance destroying techniques she'd have won sooner 4) even if shirahime couldn't swim there's no reason she couldn't have walked out of the ocean, its not like Hikaru could do any damage to her down there anyway. the water would slow her punches too much for that 5) they should have put a lot more thought into the action sequences of this anime :/ |
| So now they remember that Hikaru's attacks are light? After all those dozens of times she's sent other angels flying? And why did Sai even bother sending her angel after Misaki's? If she had just let Hikaru run around, then Sai would have won by default. Although of course they forget that the already weak punches of Hikaru would be made even weaker (and much slower) underwater, so escaping them should be fairly easy. Oh, and to top it off, Misaki's inane smile is starting to irritate me. |

| Rewatching this after a long time, I forgot how annoying this episode was. Yea, like seriously, why the hell did Sai chase her into the ocean? And why did she just give up? Though it seems during the few times Sai talked to Misaki that she is kind of a jerk so I didn't feel bad seeing her lose in such an ignominious way anyway lol Also, how did they even sink into the ocean?? When they show a wide shot of the layer, the terrain's ground level is about where the surface of the layer is. As such, there should be no way to sink down. The tech seems similar to the Star Trek holodeck technology it seems, creating holo images that have substance but even in ST:TNG you can't go into the floor lol. Another thing that makes me chuckle about this show is how the deuses will have conversations during the fights. Icchan said the layer is 30 m2, so if you apply d = sqrt(4 * A / pi) that means the layer is about twenty or so feet wide. Add to that then the extra area that is fenced off and I'd roughly guess the deuses are ~23-25 feet apart. In your house, talking to someone 25' away is no problem but in a crowded arena with all the noise from the fans? No way they are having a conversation without shouting at each other lol I guess though the headsets may have speakers/mics. It just isn't obvious, so it seems like they're just casually chatting. |
