Uh, you guys, Salim isn't a fairy, he is Hugh's human bodyguard (you didn't see a wing, right?). Warrior fairies are usually bigger and burlier than Challe, like how Anne said in 1st episode when she didn't believe Challe is a warrior fairy.
Also, Challe isn't "quickly" warming up to Anne, because their journey to Lewiston is 14 days long. Doctor's Inn was at the end of the 4th day. At the end of the 7th day Anne found out that her silver sugar is missing. Then it took them 3 days to reach the sugar-apple grove and find and harvest the fruit + 3 days to refine the apples into silver sugar (and then it would take them cca. half a day to get to Lewiston). In the beginning he is showing little interest in her (why is she travelling alone, why she smells like silver sugar, why is she so childish and naive even though she is 15 and so on), but he sees through her actions that she is kind to fairies unlike other humans and he starts to like her a bit along their journey to Lewiston.
Also, Jonas didn't suddenly decide to steal Anne's sculpture because he was angry his love was unrequited/she refused to marry him, it was planned from the beginning: 1) propose to her and coax her into making you a sculpture or 2) if it fails, steal her sculpture. (All girls in his village were crazy about Jonas and he thought he could make Anne fall in love with him too, so he was being pushy, but he failed.) Jonas already failed twice to become the Silver Sugar Master, so he decided to use her sculpture this year. Maybe they will explain in the next episode about his plan. If not, I'll tell you more. BTW, I don't think Jonas wanted to kill Anne, he probably thought Challe would protect her agains the wolves (like he did with bandits and crows) - he had to get the wolves to keep Challe occupied, so he could escape with Anne's wagon, otherwise Challe could stop him. But yeah, he's still a piece of shit and a disgusting bastard.
(If anyone is wondering about the episode title, in the novel the chapter is called "The Sugar Apple is a Deceitful Tree" - this is because their fruit looks pretty and delicious, but it's inedible, it's extremely bitter and astringent - but the silver sugar refined from the apples is very tasty and is considerd a sacred food. So yeah, you can see sugar apples are like Jonas who is "handsome and kind", but is actually a bastard.)
(If anyone is wondering about Hugh's comments about their candy sculptures, it's because Jonas just wanted to show off his skills (there was no creativity) and Anne has a good technique but her works are blind imitations of her mom, they are hollow, with no spirit - Hugh said that eating something like that would not draw in any good fortune for humans or extend a fairy's life span - the works of Silver Sugar Masters do this btw.)
(If anyone is wondering why Anne was happy that Hugh offered to pay for their stay at the Doctor's Inn - it's because she is very low on money because the cost for her mom's medical treatment over the past half a year was considerable and all their savings were gone - she had purchased Challe with the last gold coin and after paying for staying at Doctor's Inn she would be bankrupt.)
(If anyone is wondering why they thought Mythril ate Anne's silver sugar - it's because all fairies like silver sugar, it's the only food they can taste.)
(If anyone is wondering about Anne's feelings toward Challe, she's lonely, so she wants a friend, that's mostly it - and of course she would turn red if he holds her or leans too close to her, he's beautiful after all. She's lonely because her mom died only 2 weeks before she bought Challe - and she and her mom have always been traveling, and didn't stay in any village or town for long, so she doesn't have any friends. They stayed at Jonas' village for cca. half a year because Anne's mom got sick when they got to the village, so they stayed there until she will get better, but she died - Anne didn't have any friends in the village because all the girls were jealous that she and her mom were staying at Jonas' house - because his parents are candy crafters too so they kindly offered another candy crafter to stay there... or was there more reason behind it? ;-) - so anyway, all village girls liked Jonas because his family is wealthy and he is handsome and kind and they were jealous of Anne.)
