| since MAPPA is almost like child company of Madhouse (just like Production I.G & Wit studio relationship), i expecting some good isekai shit like Overlord when i saw the news of this show, they're also make some banger recently, so i got curious why they produced isekai anime like this. The first 5 minutes of watching the anime almost turn me off cuz it's just generic isekai all over again, then after i managed to bear watched until cooking part, it's actually kind of good & refreshing. it's been a long time since i feel the experience of enjoying trash anime, and it's sooo gooood (apparently it's sub genre of Slice of Life called Iyashikei or ASMR heartwarming themed). |

MAPPA literally had little to no creative control over Vinland Saga S2 and hell they're not even listed on the committee in the credits of the 1st episode. Plus most of the main staff originated from Wit so I don't see where you're getting at. |

That's ignoring the fact that Vinland Saga's character designs are much more detailed than the cooking isekai (there are hentai more animated and with more detailed character designs than the cooking isekai). Yup, season 1 had some stunning backgrounds. These backgrounds still look pretty decent, not too off. And this is episode 1, it may or may not get better. As for the character designs, they look about the same as S1. So yeah, the budget is probably the usual for Vinland, and lower for the cooking isekai (just a guess). Might be bad scheduling, especially since the cooking one is way too stiff (even for a slice of life) |
