It's nice to see some of the cast out of their mechs and in their kimonos to enjoy break time.

Truly, they deserved it. Fireworks and festival mood felt like it was what they needed when not fighting on the frontlines. The music used this episode fit the mood pretty well imo.

Arshem is walking into double traps. Even if Grieffas really pursuit peace for the sake of having Arshem (and I 100% doubt his intention), there might be another betrayal from his advisor Shinoag.

It's been a good season for mecha marriage proposals.

It was a good episode, first half to organize the alliance between the humans and the faction of the princess. Nothing excellent, but it worked with what the series has been presenting, in a pleasant way and without bringing big problems.

The second half to give us the so expected moment between Yamato and Arshem, and the interaction between some more characters (Jun could try to do a cat cosplay, maybe then she would have more luck with Reiji 😅). We even had a marriage proposal, and he accepted! A little hesitant, but he accepted!

And then someone had the genius idea to use one of the worst tropes ever, and in the worst possible way, Grieffas arrives, ignoring the meme defenses of the refuge, and convinces Arshem to go with him with an excuse so banal that even the characters know it's a lie, but with the mere mention of Sarzant, it looks like her intelligence was reset. The worst part is the chapter itself demonstrates that she has enough mental fortitude to lead her faction, but to give wings to this coming cheap drama they had to reset the character's intelligence, pure disappointment. To make matters worse it leaves a taste the chapter was absolutely useless, why all the talk of the alliance and marriage proposal if in the end she just goes with Grieffas?????
The only thread of hope I have in this poor upcoming drama, is maybe instead of her literally saying goodbye, she has warned, in detail Yamato or even Margaret, keeping in mind the possible betrayal and planned a counter measure. Because unfortunately by the previews of the next episode

Remember when that one girl was pregnant by that guy? This show doesn't. Cuz they dropped the story thread after giving it life for multiple episodes. I wonder if that idea is the reason the show got so many delays?

I get that this is the endgame, but not that long ago, Megane-kun was concerned about his baby's safety. Now he is introducing her to everyone, and without knowing the identity of the shadow people observing his kid. That's not in character for that guy. In fact, a lot of people are out of character. It would seem that different writers ditched the old plot for a new one. Or cut it out because they couldn't fit it in. Which is a shame, because this show had some fun and unique plot threads not often seen in mecha anime.

Down to talk no jutsu being ineffective. Sadly, it seems we are rushing towards a predictable end to the show. Hopefully some of the better parts of this show make it to the end.

It's a shame that 65 episode anime with actual plot aren't made anymore. If this show ditched the monster of the week format, it has enough story ideas for a pretty solid long form anime. Instead of 26 episodes of condensed story with, way, way, way to many characters.

The episode was going so well with the aliance proposal, the discussion, the different points of view and the understandable hatred that won't go away that easy. That even being followed by the festival and some needed cherished time for the warriors as well as Yamato and Arshem. All that to be ruined by a talk no-jutsu employed by Grieffas and in a not so convincing way. Man, that really sucked.

Well, I guess it's time to go rescue her.
