But also take into account the fact that they only had like 8000 people and most the survey was of teenagers. I doubt if you actually go to Japan the majority of anime fans will call lyco reco anime of the year. well in terms of surveys and polls an 8000 sample size is more than the usual 1000 max sample sizes of surveys and polls anyway so the margin of error for this poll is low too |

| idk about you but LycoReco was a 10/10 on my end. Its in their culture - Akiba maid cafes. It turns reality into fantasy fiction. Like imagine if LycoReco was actually real. Cute Girls Doing Counter Terrorism. Loved by both female and male audience. I can see why it got #1. Bocchi was a 11/10. Acutually this had to be #1 but since it just released a lot haven't watched. It raised my standards of slice of life. MC being so relatable and funny mixed with japan rock pop-culture. A perfect slice of life. Dropkick on my devil was ok. Like any other slice of life mixed with fantasy elements. |

Since it is very popular in Japan, ending was open and basically a cliffhanger with a lot of potential plot options foreshadowed AND some sort of event regarding this show planned for February, I'd say chances of second season happening are roughly 99%. |

The article refers to the poll done on Anime!Anime!, what you linked is not a poll and is not a ranking of the best anime of 2022. On a side note, CSM was a flop here in Japan? You might want to check your sources because it went and still goes great. I am aware that the link I cited is not a poll, is a bunch of people writing reviews. But the one in AnimeAnime only has eight thousand which is not a huge sample size. In terms of Chainsaw Man, it has high viewership but ratings are lower than MHA S6 if I recall correctly. Need to check profits to verify if it really does well. |
| Seems like a lost cause to go that crazy over an original that likely won't outlast darling in the franxx. A1 originals like never go past 2 cours, and now it seems they are willing to cut the cord at 1 cord like Visual prison. My guess is the art style is very reminiscient of SAO, and that show is still very prominent in the scene. Even if an anime sells well, if they planned a show to have a story told in 2 cours, that is far as it will go. Look at what Trigger as well as all what A1 did for the past decade. |
