Welcome To Holo Interviews. The #1 Interviews Club in the world!
Today we have the number one Sailor Moon fan and expert in all of The Holoist Society, @Sailor_Maria who is here to share her love for Sailor Moon and all things anime and kawaii. As well recommending us some great songs!

Tell us a little bit about yourself

~Well~ hello everybody my name is Sailor_Maria I've been a MAL user for about two years and something days. I am high school girl in my lovely Caribbean country and my favourite anime is my girl my world, Sailor Moon (obviously you can tell by my profile picture). My favourite genres and themes include, comedy, psychological , thriller, romance (sometimes), vampire (sometimes) and as stated before mahou shoujo (well it's a sub genre but you get me). I spend my time on this website doing the normal keeping track of the anime I have watched recently or in past and browsing the anime discussion forums (which have very interesting conversations) and gets me a little scared to post my opinion about the topic because you know. Anyway overall everyone I have friended so far are very friendly people.

How did you get into anime and manga?

So once upon a time I was watching the Powerpuff Girls (1998) when I was about 6 or 7 on my dad's phone (btw I still adore the show 2nd favourite cartoon to My Little Pony) and at the side of the list of videos to watch next I saw a human looking version of Blossom as the thumbnail and video title was "Powerpuff girls z episode something eng dub". So I clicked on it and didn't raise volume because I haven't seen anything like it before and thought it was some demon thing (idk why) and I thought I was in trouble so after five seconds I took it off. However, the next day I kind of curious again to see what exactly so I tried to find it again and eventually I did and I hid somewhere safe so no one can catch me watching it. The Japanese opening then played and  thought it was weird because it wasn't in Spanish or English (thinking it was the only languages in the world at the time) but for most part I fondly remember the show and how I loved watching it so much as time went by watching it. It also kickstarted my love for magical girl anime and shoujo in general (oh how I longed for those days).

What are some of your favorite shows and who are your favorite characters/waifus?

So let's get the obvious out of the way:
1)  Favorite anime: 🌙SAILOR MOON🌙

Favourite Waifu:
🌙SAILOR MOON🌙/🐇Usagi Tsukino 🐇

She's stunning, funny and (loves food like me) and has a great character growth (for me atleast)

~~Alright on to the next few~~
2) Favourite anime: Kanon (2006)
I love the feeling while watching this anime (as it was the Christmas season also). It was just giving in so much warmth and all the characters were so heartwarming (maybe except Ayu).

Favourite Waifu:
Makoto Sawatari

SHE'S SOOO ADORABLE and my most favourite character in the entire show (and also the only "tsundere" I ever liked at all). Anyway, I first thought she would be the typical tsundere (because I don't really like these characters in general) as I saw her being introduced in the anime. However as I learned further into episodes she was actually an animal and loved Yuuichi from when he was child and had such desire to him and then turned into a human of the same the girl Yuuichi told her (as a fox) that he had a crush on and would later sacrifice her memories (I think that's how it goes honestly I only watched this anime once and I was confused by this at first but Makoto's arc made me cried the most anyway). The sweetest moment in the show is when Yuuichi and Makoto by the field with just them sitting together *sob* *sob* before Makoto had to "go away" (or died?) WHATEVER THAT WAS SOO ROMANTIC!!

3) Favourite anime: Skip Beat

THISS ANIME ISS SOOO FLIPPING GOOOOOOD!! Upon watch watching it after my Reverse Harem binge (I will not go into detail of that). I was getting tired of seeing the basically the "heriones" of said show allowing these men to just sweep them (if you know what I mean) and I know Skip Beat isn't a Reverse Harem (it's actually a love triangle anime) but it was shoujo I've yet to see so yeah I gave it a try and I was intrigued by such compelling storytelling this anime had to offer (btw I'm still reading the manga). Anyway I should just start talking about the star of the show in this anime

Favourite Character: Kyouko Mogami

(By the way I don't really call her a waifu she's just my favourite character) ANYWAY I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PROTAGONIST!!SHE GIVES ME MY STRENGTH WHEN I HAVE TO DO HOMEWORK. She so hardworking, extremely loyal to her job and people around her chaotic energy gives me happiness. I just love how she didn't go cry in a hole and wait until a dorito faced slenderman came and saved her (like what most shoujo protagonists would do) after she found out how HORRIBLE Sho actually is to her (yeah she had her moments of grief) BUT DID THAT SINK HER IN....NO! She went back up and said "OH HELL NAW I'M GONNA END THIS MAN'S WHOLE CAREER" and literally kept trying to get into the agency from day to night (but to be honest the way she did it was messed up and in real life she could've probably gone to jail) But hey! she worked her way up in the industry and is a great actress! (reminder again I am still reading the manga I am still so far from chapter 300) and also THIS MANGA MIGHT BE AS LONG AS NARUTO HOW COME THIS FANTASTIC SERIES DOESN'T HAVE A SECOND SEASON AS YET?!!! that's the real crime here. ~~Moving on~~

4) Favourite anime: Air

Well from my knowledge I've heard a lot of people don't like this adaptation because in their opinion, it was too short and rushed the arcs for each character. Although, as someone who found it randomly on an anime streaming app with no knowledge of it's source and thought the cover art looked pretty I enjoyed it anyway :). As soon as watch the first few seconds of it it felt so magical with the perspective of the viewer being in the sky it made me want to sleep on a cloud (actually I've always wanted to sleep on a cloud but I'll just pass through it anyway). Then you have the iconic Tori no Uta performed by Lia and ending song which I want that to played at my funeral (its soooo perfect). The character interactions were sometimes funny to me but also I kind of wished the three girls hanged around each other (I know now it's based off a dating sim but at least Kanon made an effort to have most of girls do some stuff together, it was cute to watch though) ~~BACK TO AIR~~ Overall for my first Key Visual anime I thought it was lovely

and still sad at the end (idk if they rush that part too)....... hmm maybe I should read the visual novel.

Favourite waifu: Misuzu Kamio

Okay so I think you all are starting to pick up that I like main characters but meh I'm just a simple gal with simple thoughts sooo yeah! I probably like Misuzu for the same reasons I like Makoto. She is also adorable (and I want her dino as a plushie) but thinking of it know she just says her main girl catch phrase noise and I like her dynamic with Yukito (oof now I see why people say this anime was rushed I can bearly think of any character traits). Well I just find her to comforting to be friends with so hmmmmmm yeah.

What is it about Sailor Moon that you drew you to her and show, and what do you like most about her and the anime?
Firstly, I actually saw her in a video where a bunch of people were reacting to the US intro  (don't worry I'm not that kind of child anymore). My impression of her was of fascination. To me she looked so cool and I wanted to find out who she was and I looked her up on Youtube and started to watch random clips from different seasons of the show (before my I knew the existence of anime streaming apps and piracy websites but I got around and watched some full episodes) . At the time she came came off as clumsy, ditzy, kind of selfish and a crybaby and everyone at first doubted her as being leader but as a teenager that's a GINORMOUS responsibility to be put on your shoulders and she was trying her best and as a teen myself I still have a lot of responsibilities (and of course I know it's gonna get worse as I become an adult) as well as not being so mature myself and likes to TRY and act "older" (whatever that means) but seeing girls my age in this time already talking as if they are already adults and seeing the things I like as childish it always had made me feel inferior. I think that's where I "bond" with her character the most it's the fact she has made mistakes and has failed so many times and learns (well most of the time) is what it clicks for me and she's like a role model to me as I her perform her courageous deeds. In the entire anime in general from the transformations scenes to the calling of attacks and badass fighting I just feel so pumped at the end of it all and I will forever cherish my love for those memories (and now).

What kind of music are you into in general, and do you have any favorite Anime OST's ?

Ohh yess~~~ In general I love my music to be slow, serene and just makes me feel fresh because whenever I hear it my mind just pictures places in nature or memories when was I younger since it reminds me of those times (its really nice). The same can be said for my favourite anime openings, endings and OST's I love to listen to and when I feel happy (or feel like to shake it) I would play some banger Japanese "City Pop" music (I know it's not actually called City Pop so that's why I put it in quotation marks).

With that being said here are some examples~~~

1) Yadamon Ending Song (I have no idea what the name of this song is)

I haven't watched the anime for this as yet and I saw someone review it briefly in a video. I've yet to give it a try (cause I'm lazy now) so I've listened to the opening and ending so far and I really like this ending. It helps me fall asleep and I get this feeling of being alone at nighttime.

2) Distant Town and It was breezing (ACTUALLY THE ENTIRE SOUNDTRACK FROM THIS AMZING SHOW) - Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (Fun Fact: I sang Distant Town in my school's talent show)

AHHH YESSS YOKOHAMA I CAN NOT DESCRIBE IN WORDS HOW I LOVE EVERY SINGLE THING ABOUT IT LIKE I THINK THERE IS NO WORDS YOU JUST FEEL IN THE MUSIC and usually I listen to it whenever it's just a cold afternoon or breezy.

3) Duvet - Bôa (Opening for Serial Experiments Lain)

One of my favourite recently heard openings, this one just keep sticking to me it's soo soothing AND I LOVE IT!! (and Serial Experiments Lain itself was very nice to watch, a bit boring sometimes because I couldn't understand it on my first watch BUT HEY IT MADE ME FEEL SMART.)

3) Yuzurenai Negai- Naomi Tamura (opening for Magic Knight Rayearth)

THIS ONE HITS RIGHT IN MY HEART. This is one of the best anime openings I've ever heard (like I felt something tingly when the screen zoomed into Hikaru's eyes at that note) It also captivates you into the anime with one of the most powerful voices I've ever heard.

~~Alright on to the Japanese "City Pop"~~

1) The entire Calafornia Crisis Album - Miho Fujiwara

Although I turned off the anime a bit early since it was getting boring, I really REALLY enjoyed the music it makes me feel so groovy (if anyone uses that word anymore)

2) 4:00 am - Taeko Ohnuki

I love this woman's voice it fits soo well for a mystery or drama series

3) Broken Eyes - Mariko Tone

4) I Love you so - Junko Ohashi

I LOVE THIS SONG SOOO~~~ Anyway this one also hits me in the feels

~~On to the next question~~~

Who is your favorite card-maker on MAL?

I honestly have no favourites I just look whatever shiny pretty card I like (btw god bless the card makers on this website because my technology skills are low and thank you for making such wonderful pieces of art even though I have no idea how use them on this website). Yeah so I go on a card hunt for some reason but I don't really do it anymore because I keep forgetting to save it actually no I'm lazy when it comes to saving it

Outside of anime, what other interests do you have and like to do for fun?

I really love to socialize with people (despite not knowing how to start a conversation and is a bit shy about that) and I would sometimes doodling anime characters for no reason. In addition to hobbies, I love to sing "normal songs" and anime songs and I love to do physical activity such as running on my treadmill, doing bodyweight exercises as well as weightlifting and stretching. The only sport I play at the moment is badminton (but I am interested in starting football).

If you could live in the world of an anime you've seen or manga you've read, which would it be and why?

THIS

I WOULD LOVE TO LIVE HEREEEEEE!! IT WOULD BE SUCH A DELIGHT TO JUST TRANSPORT INTO THE YOKOHAMA KAIDASHI KIKOU WORLD COMPARED TO MY BORING, DRY LIFE . Imagine just waking up and getting your nice hot coffee and looking out into this scenery, my day would've just went well there. At this point it's my goal to live somewhere similar (if nature truly blessed us with some good land). To live in a such a quiet (not too quiet) space would be great for me.

Anything you would like to say to our readers?

Welp thanks for reading till the end of this review (and thanks soo much again for giving me "a voice" on this website) and I hope you all are having a wonderful day, night or afternoon (if not then go watch Yokohama or Aria).

Anyway Later Days~~ {Insert Reference}
