Curious thing, if the Kurosu family really had killen Tokiko. Maybe they would have lived (If Aoya did not kill them later c:).

"Every time Tokiko made a decision prioritizing herself."

So...

Tokiko's soul was compensation for giving her body life.
Her friend from the orphanage died when Tokiko decided to leave the orphanage or when she decided not to take any memories of it.
Her classmate who witnessed the teacher's murder (which honestlym the victims from the serial killer seem to me to be a case apart from the curse) died when Tokiko decided that she would not commit suicide.
Tokiko's father died when she decided to pursue her own happiness.
Her brother Hiroaki died when she decided not to take the elevator to probably not be with her family because they were a nuisance (like she did with her classmates at first).
Her sister Haruka died when she decided to apologize and who knows maybe she thought to say a few words about the death of her family or maybe the truth of what happened.
The next members are complicated, maybe Kinue died because of Tokiko's decision to not let Kinue kill her; Ayako probably died because of Tokiko's decision to call her family, so as to not to go see her sister-in-law die and leave; her brother Takahito died because she decided to express her true feelings for her family (although she couldn't).
Rina died when she decided that she wanted to learn to cook from Miyuki (not because her sister offered to teach her but because she decided to learn, different to her usual her).
Miyuki committed suicide when she took back her decision to seek her own happiness.
Detective Yashiro died when he decided to go against her "friend's" decision and tell the truth.
Aoya died when she decided that she wanted to live.
Natsuki died when Tokiko decided to be by her side (damn ninjas cutting onions: c)
When Natsukidied, Tokiko realized that she had nothing left so she decided to die, her compensation? Kisaragi.
Finally when she wrote her will and told the detective about it, her compensation was her own death.

I have mixed feelings for Natsuki but I'm glad to realize as I write this that Tokiko, although she didn't do it as the others hoped, she wanted to live and, sincerely, that the detective Koga felt sorry for her and saw her as a person made it better.

The detail of the blood where they died was a plus.

The only thing that tears me apart is to think that Tokiko always lived for others or at least that was what she had always thought, first for her father, then for her sister Miyuki and finally for her friend Natsuki and when they died she had nothing.
And, in the middle of that, if she wanted something, someone would die for it, Tokiko you are beautiful.
I like to post in manga forum when I feel it is worth it, so people will think. "Shit, is her again" or something.

People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English.

Yeah; that one was pure pain. Myuki's death was also kind of sad, but Natsuki's hit me the hardest. At least looking at from the perspective that the souls of Tokiko and Natsuki were free to reunite following the latter's premature death makes it a bit easier to stomach, but it's still pretty tough ':/

You forgot the most important casualty: the pigeon that died when Tokiko decided to go see the pigeon.

I guess that was an okay read. The ending was a nonsense and it left more questions than answers, specially regarding Kurosu family's deaths. There was a need for a compensation, so, like, 8 people died in a row? And what was Natsuki's death meant to compensate? Because it was Natsuki who told Tokiko to go to the police so they could stay together. Furthermore, I don't get why Tokiko murdering Aoya counts as a compensation, but her causing her adopted father's death required the death of the entire family? WTF. Also, it was said someone in presence of Tokiko had to die to compensate, but half of the characters weren't even with her when they died. And, are you telling me the ones who die in compensation had to be the major characters, providing she must know tons of people (students, teachers, etc.)? Pretty forced.

About the time gap between the deaths, it is stated it was because she didn't wish to do anything prioritizing herself. Didn't she make plans with Natsuki, or study, or do anything with her adopted father prioritizing herself, not even once? Didn't she prioritize herself whenever she ate, bathed, or slept? It's just so forced.

The tone is also inconsistent, as it swings between drama, comedy, mystery, and horror, and I don't think they feel too natural. Most of the characters are also outright boring; by the end of the read, I still couldn't remember the name of the 2 detectives, we barely get to know the Kurosus, the little girl has basically no personality, and the doctor is basically an exposition wall.

The only characters who had any kind of personality were Tokiko, Natsuki (although more than a character herself, she was an extension of Tokiko), the one Kurosu member who committed suicide, and Aoya. And I feel like the shock value is lost quickly after like 8 people die in the first few chapters. You know everyone is going to die from the very beginning.

Speaking about Aoya, the murder-mystery subplot felt forced in the plot, like it had little to do with everything else and had no real consequences; yet, the story focused in it for the most part. His motives were pretty stupid and didn't make much sense, and the reveal felt like it came out of nowhere. And I didn't get the drama about Tokiko killing Aoya, like, he was a fucking psycho who killed like 25 people, abducted Tokiko, and was going to kill her. The killing was completely justified. Aoya himself was disappointing in the end, like, he was a psycho who murdered tons of people and no one suspected him, yet he is fooled by Tokiko in such an unrealistic way? He really lets her walk alone in his own house and doesn't even look after the little girl? Too forced and convenient.

Besides, the trap Tokiko uses to get Aoya is BS, there's no way she could do all of that in such a short time. And the detectives' method for suspecting Aoya... like, they have to be some kind of clairvoyants or something, because there is no way they could realize that using such a stupid logic. He is a reporter, so he has to be guilty because the culprit avoided being recorded. Ok.

Even so, Tokiko carried this manga and the mystery bits were interesting enough to keep the reader's interest, even if I was just bored whenever the Focus switched to the detectives.

It had potential, but it tried to do too much and the elements didn't come together. The rushed beginning didn't help either.

5/10

PD: Does anyone know why in the ending of episode 34.5, there was a note that said there was 1 suicide and 1 dead? Both the last Kurosu member and Tokiko committed suicide. About the one dead, I guess it refers to Tokiko because she was "dead" from the very beginning? I don't know.

Tokiko counts as a survivor since her death wasn't a result of the curse, and because, like you said, she's already dead from the beginning. So the suicide is Miyuki, and the "dead" is Tokiko.
