clearly I missed something but why does Kyon say he still needs to eventually go back and restore the world? Isn't that what he had accomplished by the end of the movie?

If I recall, it's just time travel continuity stuff, not any deeper than that.

future him did so he'll have to be the future kyon for another timeline.

It’s time stuff that makes no sense. Basically the future him saved his past self. As time passes, your past def will eventually reach the point where you become the future self. As a result, he needs to do what his future self did and go back into the past and rescue a past version of himself to keep an infinite loop going.

Remember earlier in the film *future Kyon* had to save the current Kyon. Well that's what he's talking about, now it's his job.

can you tell me when does that future kyon appeared to save past kyon? i don't remember because it was my first anime and i was blind by that story and emotions.
