Just judging by the art on the main page of the anime; It seemed like the #1 critique of s2 was animation quality, with #2 coming in close with a lack of action, with HMS turning into more of a slice of life.

I guess we'll see what the future holds. Personally hoping another studio picks it up.

its not just the quality of art/animation

the delivery of plot itself was bad. it feels like just regurgitating text instead of actually telling (or showing) a story.

honestly half way through the season i just stopped caring because it wasn't interesting.

Exactly. I am the same. But personally since I haven't read the original material I don't if the light novel is really bad or the studio adapted it in a really bad way.

I wouldn’t count on a new studio coming in and taking over.

the announcement was 'tacked' onto ending of the finale episode of S2. just like Komi-san S2 announcement was on S1's finale episode.

when a studio does that? yeah, they were ALREADY at work on the next part. if not CONTINUOUSLY or even CONCURRENTLY working on the next part IMMEDIATELY after they finished the first part. i SERIOUSLY doubt the Big Yen Guys in Japan are going to pull a fast one like NETFLIX did on Grendel and yoink the rug out from under this project.
just an ol school American otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.

Well at least we're not waiting 9+ years between S1 and S2

About lack of action, I think this season will fix this. Though there will be a lot of info dump as well. But I dont think quality is gonna change. Since it's a sequel announced to air in 2023, there isn't much time to rearrange the staff or change the studio. But hope the quality imporves atleast a little

Well duh you think after a studio decides to take on a 10 year dormant IP they drop it too?

I love how this franchise got meme'd with the sequel wait where everyone was hoping so badly it would happen. After S2 finished, S3 got announced right after and not many people care whatsoever about this new sequel. This fell off hard af.

Only interesting episode was 12 (literally the last one) and it was just one thing Gabriel said that piqued my interest....the rest i totally agree it was just mediocre I would've dropped it too, just kept watching in hopes it'd get better TT

the studio is not the problem.

they made princess principal and flip flappers.

they can make some great looking shows.

the problem is with either, time, budget, or the staff. probably all of them if we're being real.
