But adachi wants a Character that everybody loves and than was Chisato Born. Chisato is the reason the Story was Not so DARK. if you read the interview, the writer actually said that in the original draft, chisato was supposedly a cold character, and that she would brighten up after meeting takina. but in the anime, it was the other way around. HOWEVER, we did see in the throwback that young chisato - before she received the mechanical heart - seemed emotionless. Yes , since Fuki was First the Main Character Not Chisato. You must read the Interview from Asaura, He mentioned that He wanted first that Fuki is the Main. omg i cannot imagine lycoris recoil without chisato being the main character 😩 her and takina are the heart of the show <3 Even Asaura was impressed at the Character Chisato herself. He Said in the Interview that was the best decision from Adachi to change this and He thought that this will make Chisato to the most interesting Character in the series. And i mean it was. I dont think Fuki has obtain the same amount of fans as Chisato has now. Kinda sad really, it could've been something special but it just ended up being another waifu-bait, yuri-bait flavour of the month show with pointless slice-of-life filler designed to sell merch. CickNipolla said: Its very easy to deduce what changes were made > Takina almost certainly killed the girl in episode 1 she was trying to save Lmao that explains why they randomly tried (and failed) to make her into an actual character near the end. every lycoris other than the two main characters was pointless past episode like 4 True but my point is that Fuki and that other girl (I forget her name lol) were still kinda characters, they randomly tried to make that girl that Takina saved into a character near the end of the series but then gave up on it. Felt super weird. |

It is about appreciating your own truth, and sticking by your guns...no pun intended! I just wanted some chaos in this with Majima winning, lol. I really wanted them to embrace the sad ending for Chisato, but they backed out to avoid fan outcry. Little did they know that they were going to get a plethora of disgusting insults thrown at them on social media anyway, just for the bs that is not having a yuri couple as canon. Disgusting |

This is a huge problem in general, instead of creative and passionate works everything has to be watered down to appeal to the lowest common denomintator untill we're left with nothing but a big bland nothingburger. Not targeting this series specifically, I have not seen it and perhaps it was the correct choice in this specific instance. Hearing about it getting watered down to appeal to the lowest common denominator doesn't make me more keen on watching it though. |

Disgusting I don’t think it would have been nearly as popular if it was a dark show like let’s say, Black Lagoon. And I doubt they changed anything. The production team is on record saying how LR is “really rewatchable, a feel good experience” so they plan was always to tug at the heartstrings but have Chisato and Takina have a happy ending. Yes, the minority of yuri fans attacking the production team is not at all justified, but I feel it is being blown out of proportion. BD sales are hitting records right now for LR. It’s safe to say a lot more people are satisfied with what LR presents itself as than not. |

The creator themselves is happy with the changes that happened during development, specifically the light hearted tone. So your assessment that is what watered down to appease the masses is kinda ungorunded, given the creator wanted it that way rather than changing things due to feedback from the public. I know you said not attacking this anime specifically, though. I agree with you about watering down art to have mass appeal. In the end it will only serve as a product of its time and nothing more. |

Yuri ship or whatever means nothing to the story, and even if they were posting those messages for something more important to a series, such as a terrible ending, it still isn’t justified. Also, not saying yuri is bad (not my cup of tea tho) but I’ve noticed that homo ship fans tend to be the most vile. I wonder why |

Are you sure the people who enjoy that one recent isekai about a guy murdering for coin so he can buy sex slaves are all rational, sane people? It’s impossible to say, which is why giving groups stigmas just because a few bad apples do something terrible is just wrong. And like I said before, some of the most popular franchises have come across the most vile, deplorable “fans” that have done evil crimes. KyoAni, for example... |

However, when it comes to the sort of disgusting comments and the rather extreme lengths these shippers have gone it’s just asinine. And I’ve also seen the same with yaoi fans as well and to a lesser extent straight couple shippers, but I’m not trying to make it sound like all people who like yuri or Lycoris Recoil are bad, so sorry if it sounded that way. Also, the KyoAni situation was the worst outcome possible and not really comparable to these idiots, as that was a criminal act. |

Wel, I at least am grateful you can see it’s not just yuri that have rabid fans. I don’t agree with harassing anyone for the sake of their fetishes. I could see if this was a giant attack by the LR community as a whole, but for the most part, everyone seems to love the vibe of LR for what it is. As for KyoAni, yes it was indeed a very heinous act but I mentioned it because even the most well-respected franchises/studios have insane “fans” and they are completely not to blame for deranged people, and the same is for shippers/yuri enjoyers imo. |
