Where should i start reading it?

Simple as the tittle said, where should i start reading LN? I was thinking of continuing after season 4 stuff, but also i heard that TNK did a really poor job with the adaptation on the 2nd and 3rd season.
So i do really know where to start it.

Start from the beginning. There are some aspects that are somewhat important to the story that weren't translated properly/at all in the anime, like Issei's monologuing. And you can also make comparisons to the adaptation.

Dude I picked up the light novel at book 6 then onward, I read until 9 which I skipped. As well as book 13 until I was satisfied with the battles and development(later reading soon after finishing 12) but just because you are refreshed on the anime doesn't mean you shouldn't read the manga or novels. The manga helped reimagine the series leading up the Astoroth and Khaos brigade drama then ready for when I picked up book 6 but after watching the anime this year for the first time it wasn't hard to follow along. the two I skipped are simply because they are side stories not related to the ongoing plot. and skipping the first 5 books and planning on going back to reading a few aint a bad idea. Its not a totally bad idea because the author reintroduces demon pacts in novel 14 anyway so reading the first book along with starting the plot with the vampires is not bad. I guess what Im saying is regardless of any trepidation you may feel about starting the light novel I would say is nonsense. The Anime is going to return off of the current hiatus and that solely will return a lot more light novel fans to rewatch or experience the long forgotten story. Just a baseline understanding of everything in the anime currently will be a good enough understanding for the light novel. And if your spotty on the anime then when your confused with a characters name or reference to a sword/holy weapon or sacred gear then look at the wiki fandom. its fun to explore sometimes and get lost in the story and Quora.

and also TNK did a great job maybe getting ahead of themselves ... I thought the season three ending was great tbh. it only introduces something that has yet to come in the anime only discussed or idk previewed in the light novel. The Loki curse wasnt real but still was a different heart breaking turn stirring up some drama I guess. But TNK as for the artistry and animation as a whole could of done better with some the fighting or quick discussions making the serious topics appear more dramatic but it holds up great still in 2024. I dont think at all the previous seasons suffered due to the studio producing the TV show I think what they did with the Born finally was cool and dramatic as fuck which is the only reason why i liked it but still Vali showed a side to his team that Issei later discovers where they arent all tuff and muscles . Just some misfits with powerful but simple intentions. I dont fully understand Ophis intentions, they claim to be the upcoming ruler of the dimensional gap but in turn appears to be lost and looking for someone somewhere to call home. very interesting hmm
