| I like Akira as a boy. Making him a girl would ruin the dynamics for me. Like adding romance and cuter moments from your list. I don't want those. The chemistry is already fine. Gender doesn't stop character development. Doesn't need comic relief. And no waifus! |

If Akira were a girl, we could have had something between her and Shiki. Of course i don't want it to be a focus point but just a little scene every few episodes would be nice like what happened with Kon and Kabane. There's also plenty of instances where Akira is depicted as being "cute" but these scenes would have been even better if he actually were a girl. WHY NO WAIFUS??? We could have had anime Elsa :( Oh god no. I don't like Elsa or Frozen. Terrible Disney film. I don't want a Shiki and Akira romance. Making Akira a girl would ruin their current relationship. I think romance is over done and over used. And no those cute scenes would be extra vomit if Akira was a girl. Also I don't like gender swap in general. Especially using male character with feminine/soft traits. It's like saying male characters can't have feminine/soft traits and still be male. Edit: Also I don't like that female characters are automatically put into must have a romance/love interest category. I would only consider Akira as a girl with absolutely NO romance. |

I meant Elsa in appearance and abilities only, not personality lol. Romance is over used in anime but as i stated, this anime does it perfectly and it doesn't take away from the main plot. Huh, extra vomit? you don't like CGDCT? that's one of the best parts of anime. im not responding to your last statement because i rather not get into all that and risk being attacked by the 🌈 community. If I had my way I would limit CGDCT to like 5 to 10 anime a year. And not watch any of them. The backstory isn't that deep anyway and in exchange for changing it we would get an overall better character. Well. I'm out. It's a very relevant back story and Akira is a good character already. Making him female would ruin him. edit: If you really want a female love interest for Shiki then introduce a new character. |

| Akira has to be a boy for the yuki onna stuff to make sense. It's not something you can just change to work with him being a girl because that's not how the Japanese legend works. Ignoring that, I don't think it would have added anything to the story if he was one either. Kon is already there as the token girl once she's away from Lady Inari. Also I feel like the only reason people think he should be a girl is because he's feminine, if he was a more masculine character nobody would bat an eye. |

| I don't even know why this discussion is happening in the 1st place.... Traps are all common in the anime universe. It's not a new fact. There are tons of traps out there like in fate series, Re: zero even in Naruto. Don't forget steins gate. And the fact that the VA of the Mc is a girl is also not new because she did a lot of male voice before. Like asta from black clover. (Check it) One thing is that akira does have girlish vibe,only because he grew up in a village full of women. And another fact is that if akira was a girl then the snow mountain village story and the fight with his brother would never have happened and the whole anime would've been upsidedown. So it's better as it is.... |
