It's even more bizarre since the manga has the romantic subtext tag.

I've not read the manga, but they start dating at the end of the anime and there's no reason they'd break up in a light-hearted series like this... So why does that only have a romantic subtext? Surely the two main characters going out is enough to classify it as a romance story.

But then why isn't the anime given the romantic subtext tag too? It would make more sense that way and the manga has it too, so why not add it for the anime?

The whole thing is just a mess since there's no clear definitions on what romance is and what romantic subtext is.

Is Berserk a romance? Is Sword Art Online a romance? Is Attack on Titan a romance? Realistically, the answer could be yes and no to any of these questions. You'd be hard pressed to find a work of fiction that doesn't involve romance, or at the very least, a romantic subtext.

nope it doesn't need a Romance tag at all yes there were those elements there but they weren't the main focus of the show thus it's not a Romance this was a light bit Romance at best which doesn't count as most shows has that nowadays anway .

Shouldn't it at least get the "romantic-subtext" tag? If they are dating by the end of the season then romance is a part of the story. If it's not mayor then romantic-subtext is fitting.
