| Crunchyroll revised timing due to DST elapsed. Ryo could not believe that Hong Xiuying is the venerable Master Tao Lishao, and it took a spar to show her true colors. Her assistant Xun Fangmei makes a casual joke, and Master Liu Hanhui advises Ryo to master the 4 Wude before going any further. First stop: Guang Martial Arts School, and Master Xuan Zhoushan welcomes Ryo with big arms, though it's a pass as the reason that is Wude claimed someone's life. So then, off to the next point: Golden Shopping Mall, where he finds a rugged street performer by the name of Zongquan, and right there and there he performs a improvised street act, but he like the the Man Mo Temple master, also gives him a pass (though he knows clearly what's going on as the former disciple whom Master Zhoushan banished). The Yellow Heads are another rival underworld organization in Hong Kong (aside from Lan Di's Chi You Men), and Ryo is a bit clause to face them head on with Zongquan assisting his escape. The message also extends to Joy, which of course she scuffles in fear of Ryo being fearless to even give them attention. And that string lead to understanding between him and Zongquan, which he gives Ryo a recommendation letter back to Master Zhoushan to learn the 2nd Wude: "Jie", a move that isn't done without thought. Even as Xuiying will not budge about her decision to help Ryo, this is only the beginning of his journey from her teachings, one that will become all the more important as we head off the 2nd half. | Zongquan's story is shown, it's interesting to see what theyre focusing on, love it. Joy is being helpful and clearly a little thirsty, while Ren is stalking Ryo. Fangmei also seems a bit more energetic. Great episode. |

| I agree, great episode. Really interesting the protagonist and situations with the Yellow Heads that they give to Zongquan and and how are handling the Wudes in a very dynamic and varied way at the same time that the story progress. I think that I know the reason of why Master Mo help Ryo (That is also new If I remember well). That encounter with Ren. |

| So Ryo has mastered another one of the Wude which is Jie and we get a backstory on Zong Quan's banishment form the Guang Martial Arts School. Master Tao Lishao AKA Hong Xiuying has given him a place to stay in her room, but she hasn't change her decision on helping him. Maybe Ryo reminds her on someone from her past. |

| Looks like the animation quality has officially dipped for good. Was hoping that wouldn't happen, but oh well. On the other hand, the direction is still amazing. Zonquan's arc, Ren's introduction, the interactions between Ryo and Joy, that ending scene with Xiuying with the transition to Shenhua...masterful stuff. Given how empty Golden Shopping Mall felt in Shenmue II, it's always had a liminal space-type presence in my mind, so it was interesting to see it so lively and full of people lolol |
| Sucks to be Joy but we all know for Ryou martial arts and discovering the truth surrounding his father's death takes precedence over any kind of romance. |

Ren is hot, and the way he dress makes him even hotter. I already imagine me doing 3P with him and Ryo. Ryo looks dumb a lot in the episode when he ask people around the town, but since he has the hottest dumbface in any character in any franchise it's actually a treat to see him like that lol. I wish I could provide him a room to sleep but Master Tao Lishao already done that. Damn, someone here is really down bad... However I feel similarly to Joy and Xiuying. I think their anime counterparts look really pretty. ^^ |
