THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

This series has a closed final, finally our "mechas-heroes" defeat the villains, the Mycenae Empire!!!
It was a little sad because Dr. Kabuto died for protect Tetsu!!!

The worst of this final, it very fooled, sorry but is the truth, was stupid and accelerated, in my opinion, two more episodes would have been great, although with a little more professionalism!!

The best of this final, watch the 5 mechas fighting together, although only was to destroy and kill the last enemies!!!!

ok so yeah this was a pretty cool episode. Showcasing all the heroes together taking down the fortress Demonica, along with Dr Hell and Janus. Seeing them all work together was the highlight at the cost of Dr. Kabuto death. Very nice.

but I just have to say one thing. What about the Emperor of Darkness? lol. Did the writers forget there is one last final villian still out there. Damn man, part of the excitement and anticipation watching all these mecha shows is you finally get to see the man behind the curtain at the very end but i guess not. That was a huge dissapointment to me that the story still remains unresolved. The Myccanae Empire is still out there and the Emperor of darkness still lives.

So because of that rather very abrupt ending, I have to give this series a 5/10. Originally it would have been a 6/10 hoping the ending was decent, but i still don't think it beats the original series with more interesting villians and very unexpected twist at the end. So hopefully i am wrong about all this and there is some ova or final special episode or something that actually brings this story to a close but for now, very dissapointed in that it ended this way.

And so the Mazinger epic is over (if we forget Grendizer, which Toei apperently forgot for the most recent movie). This was the foundation of mecha. Was it a good foundation? For mecha in the 70s? Yes. For Toei to make money? Yes. Artistically? Honestly I wouldn't consider it artistically bankrupt, it tryed to say something at times, but mostly in Mazinger Z.

I know it's been a while since you sent this - and as someone who hasn't even finished Mazinger Z I'm purely going off the manga - but there was a manga series called Devilman Tai Yami no Teiou, where Devilman fights the Emperor of Darkness, who is revealed to be the Greek God Hades - the Mazinger characters feature also.
