| This might be surprising considering I hold the 2/10 review on the first anime, but I actually liked this first episode. Light's got a personality unlike Hiiro, the setting is pretty neat, there's a good bit of worldbuilding already and the character designs look nice. I just hope "Shadowverse is my fate" isn't going to become the new "SHAODBA TANOSHII" or else you'll hear my tone change really quickly. |
| I clicked on this accidentally so I was surprised when I continued watching past the first 3 minutes and even more surprised when the MC showed up and I was smiling with joy. I love the art style. I love the animation. I love the character designs. I love the personalities. I love the OP. I love the OST. Woah! I don’t find myself watching anime aimed towards kids ever but this actually entertained me. I’m excited to see where it leads. |

| A friend pointed out to me that, aside from the obvious "set in a school for game", this show is even more GX than it initially appeared. The digital friends are basically duel spirits and the group of seven players is called the "Seven Shadows"- GX' first group of villains, by comparison, was the "Seven Stars". |

| I didn't watch the original Shadowverse but I was shocked when there wasn't a battle in this episode. And I kinda preferred it that way?? I lol'd when Light gaslit Subaru into joining the team. I'm looking forward to the next episode and the first fight of the series. |
