Thoughts on the series?

I personally think it would better if they stopped making new content for the series because the end of the first FLCL felt satisfying enough, however considering Gainax sold it off it's kind of inevitable. I do think the 3d style looks cool, plus Shoegaze will have a more traditional 2d style.

Honestly only the first one was good. It fell off with the sequential two anime. But hey maybe this one will be better

Honestly, I don't think it needs to be as good as the original. It was a masterpiece, the hurdle of making something as good as that is way too damn high. And the sequels aren't going to make the original worse if they aren't as good, cause the original is still unchanged.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing what Grunge and Shoegaze bring to the table.

Cautiously optimistic because the posters look cool and I like shoegaze and grunge as musical genres. I trust production I.G. to provide decent animation for shoegaze and for the guy who was supposed to direct the kids see ghosts animated series to bring something new to the series with grunge. The short trailer we got to see looks more fun and energetic than all of progressive and alternative combined

Resurrecting series' simply for zombifying them isn't optimal, as last seen with the previous two iterations of this rework. It's safe to say this will be just as bad as Alternative and Progressive. FLCL forgot what it was and isn't remembering any time soon.

i watched prog. and alt. after hearing that they have nothing to do with the original exept for haruko so while watching them, i never tried to compare them with the original so i ended up enjoying both of them, and that's what i'll do with this one too.
Hope FLCL fans stop being so dramatic jeez.

really tired of this cyclical industry desecration of long finished IPs. just leave them to rest, this is borderline necrophilia. original FLCL was all in all a tightly wrapped self contained package and didn't ask for any of the iterations that followed it. FLCL's soul already elevated itself to the anime pantheon and none of that essence may be found lingering in it's barren remains. none of it's spirit is accessible to the reaches of those unscrupulous board members, whatever of it remains is in the hearts of it's original viewership and don't doubt a second they won't hesitate to profit off your nostalgia
