I quite enjoy Clannad: After Story, unlike most people.

@BruceTurnbull

Yes, I quite enjoyed that one. It seems to be a hidden gem that was hidden within the depths of Animeland (Japan).

These days, people don't seem to appreciate slice of life anime quite like they used to. I wonder, is it a result of our increasing dependency on modern technologies that provide instant gratification? Or perhaps as a whole is our society has lost its attention span due to some other external factor? As Newton once said, "What stays in anime moves in anime, unless otherwise acted upon by an external force. Nevertheless, I do believe slice of life anime should make a comeback, as I do feel there are those within our generation who would appreciate the artform (such as ourselves, the truest of anime appreciators). Anime's current dependence on the far-fetched fantastical and illogical illusionary (isekai) creates a community (modern anime fans) who views it as a means of escapism (flashy explosions, unfunny comedy, sex appeal), rather than a form of art.
