| Eh, first chapter I think I haven't really liked. If humanoid Mononoke are going to have the same mentality of typical Mononoke, I'm not really sure what adding them adds to the series except less interesting designs for the villains. I've mostly found the generic aspects of this series comfy, a well-executed familiarity, but this chapter just felt rote. Part of that has to do with stripping the more unique monster designs in favour of humanoid ones, and part of that has to do with the super generic villain dialogue and ideology of others are just there to be used. Not thrilled with an unknown saving the day either. It's better than everyone dying or them somehow beating him, but it still isn't very satisfying, even if the Samurai Officer dies in the process. But I guess it works for expanding the world I guess. On the positives, said Mononoke was fun at first with Dora, it seemed like he was just going to let them live at first which is nice, gives him a bit more dimension than the previous Mononoke's. I liked Ginchiyo's internal monologue throughout, hoping this leads to her own advancements, and the series doesn't slot her into this position the whole series. Considering they're addressing it, I have higher hopes for her. Also the line about the Human World is interesting, since that means there does exist a Mononoke World, and that should make for an interesting location later on in the series. It's doing really well in the rankings so far, so I have hopes it won't be cancelled prematurely. |

| Ive seen manga with better concept, art and introduction and they still getting axed by jump, i have a feeling this manga wont last long, hopefully i am wrong. |
