DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Saiyuuki, or known as "Alakazam the Great" in the US, is about the monkey king Son-Goku/Alakazam who wants to battle Buddah but ends up going on a pilgrimage with Buddah's son. This 1960 movie anime is the bases of many of today's anime, especially the Dragonball franchise. |

| Not my favorite version of the legend. Story was way too rushed even when compared to similar takes of the story like https://myanimelist.net/anime/20189/Boku_no_Son_Gokuu with many stuff changed or got very wrong. This is not the movie you should get your knowledge of Xiyouji from. |

| This show's progression feels so unnatural as things just happen without proper preparation of its aims. An adventure where events feel so thrown it doesn't reach the intended effect of wonder, even more by lacking imaginative scenarios and backgrounds. Poor man's Wanpaku. |
