I mean, the French Revolution was actually a highly complex British conspiracy (which is rather ironic, given that it was the British conservatives who were the most ideological enemies of the revolutionaries)? Is Moriarty actually running a covert Republican terrorist organization? They also have a "king of Bohemia", although at that time the king of the region had been the emperors of Austria for 300-400 years.

I understand that this is not a historical show in the serious sense of the word, but after 2-3 episodes of the first season, it went so far from reality that it began to seem to me that I was watching something like the Ikemen version of Princess Principal.

No it’s based in Sherlock Holmes and his nemesis Moriarty. Those stories are based on history I guess though.

I know it's based on Conan Doyle lol. And in the original book series, there were also attempts at politics and history, but it was mostly quite realistic, since the author and audience literally lived at that time.

Yeah its not realistic at all. That was actually an issue I had with it, I would’ve preferred a bit more realism. But not in the historical sense, its more about how they portray combat in the series - its very unrealistic, like people knocking bullets away with coins and things like that.

Anyway, its a pretty solid show. Just don’t expect realism if you want to enjoy it.

Well, I have no complaints about the quality of the show itself, it's just that I'm quite into history, so I couldn't help but notice this.

I mean, it could been seen like that. I've never actually thought much about it myself.

pretty sure the manga which the anime is based off of is mostly fictional with loose connections to the real world
