Whole thing about the ship is prob cuz Eren saved her as a child and her Ackerman instincts which made her want to protect and love Eren for what he did. And she basically likes him because of it and the ship isn’t that bad imo but AoT isn’t a romance so ships don’t matter for it

Isayama is not the best when it comes to romances lol. But this show is not a romance anime so i doesnt really matter to me. Still, the ship was always there (not obvious though). If you analyze all the moments and understand japanese concept of romance, which is different that what we are used to see in occidental culture you will see Isayama planned that ship from the beginning. He even stated he wanted them to kiss on chapter 50 but he ended up not to do so.

It was pretty obvious to me since the beginning . The author didn’t make their bond so strong for no reason. I knew in the end they would be involved somehow. I think a lot of people are just too dense to realize that the romance doesn’t have to be painfully obvious (especially in a show like AOT) for it to be incorporated into the story. Isayama definitely took the subtle route which makes sense for AOT and also fits Eren’s character perfectly because he’s definitely the type of guy who isn’t romantic at all and would keep his feelings pent up inside him (which is literally what he did, after all).
