Can someone please explain to me what the fuck happened in the last volume? Like what was going on in that sex scene where he sees his own face on Nanakos body? Why did he see his face and more importantly why was he so excited and ready to smash after seeing his face on her body? That really tripped me out but then again I am looking at it from my pov.

So, basically, during that scene he had finally realized that the homunculi were just projections of his own psyche. When he says “why did you start off with those confusing homonculi things, you should have done this from the start” he’s referring to the fact he was in denial, and could not accept that these were all just projections of himself this entire time.
