I really disliked the fact, that Mugen just ruined Kozas perfect life. I mean, yea, he was deceived, but what for kill the only guy, who knew, where the gold is hidden?
Ge.

Also, the fact that Mugen survived without explanation is terrible.

Really great story arc, with several twists to the ending. I love how Koza was far more deep and not nearly as predictable as most kind childhood female friends of a main character.

What a whore. She got what she deserved, especially since that was the only way she knew how to live. The gold was a pity, but Mugen really left her with nothing. Perfect ending.

Nice twists and development from their childhood friend days.

Loved this arc a lot. He got a perfect revenge. Left her with absolutely nothing and at the same time gave her the chance to make a new start if she's willing to.

lol. Totally agree with that.
Mugen was limping. Koza should have just ran away instead of standing still. Serves her right though. I'm wondering if those flashbacks of her caring for Mugen were genuine.

She was in shock that he was still alive and that her life got ruined. She also wanted to die at this point.

Koza definitely deserved it.
Mugen pwned the mess out of her, taking everything away, though I wish the hint to where the hello kitty the gold was D:
Ah well, you win a few, you lose a lot.
Beautiful animation.

Well, everyone pretty much covered everything for me, except the guy who said he didn't like this arc or something about it. Man, screw him.
But still, I agree that they could have actually ran,
he was limping and they should both know that by this point this fcker is invisible.

This.

I think that Koza actually wanted to be with Mugen but he plain rejected her. So it was a life with her brother or that other dude. Given the period she lived in, it's understandable that a she thinks a woman can't make it alone and she's probably right.

Definitely. Aside from a couple of scenes from Cowboy Bebop (those who've watched it already know what I'm talking about) and various parts of Grave of Fireflies, this was the most powerful scene I've viewed in anime.

I loved Jins and Mugens fighting in this episode, even if there wasn't much of it. Just shows how much badassery can be concentrated into two people.

The last scene was really powerful... The music really enhanced the feeling of the scene too. Great animation continues... and the story and plot is exceptional this time round too. :) Really enjoying these Mugen episodes.

I thought Koza got what she deserved too. And d'oh, of course Mugen isn't going to die so easily. You'd think she would at least know that, as his childhood friend... Though it was kind of mysterious how he just ended up on shore. Did he get caught in a fisherman's net and get pulled ashore or something? (He was tangled in a net when Fuu found him...)

Wellz, whatever. Loved the episode. Yay. :D

this was a totally different mood in this arc

they should have killed Mukuro in the episode before what an ass
I laughed as Jin scliced him into pieces XD
Well Mugen was kind of cruel to her but after getting betrayed for the second time,
it was understanable that he was pissed.

Amazing episode and my favorite of the series. Watching this a second time takes away from it a bit, since I already know what happens, but it is still good nonetheless. Powerful scenes, great music, and a dramatic twist makes this episode epic! Loved how Mugen sliced that guy up at the end muahahah.

Wow, I had forgotten how great this episode was. Mugen's drowning/back-story sequence was completely mesmerizing and very powerful, very much so because of the song. Brilliant episode.

This episode was pretty awesome. Mugen is like restless spirit, no matter how many times they "kill" him, he'll come back. And Koza, She really looked like she saw a ghost though he just wandered around her and made her totally alone and poor as punishment, exactly what she was afraid of. That might have been worse for her then death sentence. Really cruel fate, she brought on herself.
