This is like the best looking show Maho films has produced. Wich isn't much of a compliment.

Meh, I'll give it the 3 episode rule.

Probably because there are so very few yuri anime, especially ones that aren't just slice of life. People who like that stuff generally have to read fanfics instead of getting to get canon material out of it.

It's a lot of wasted potential for that they never use since there is obviously a market for it. It doesn't have to be echii for people to want to see an isekai with a yuri as the main romance. You'd think they'd have done that by now with all of the isekai out there.

If people want diversity, there should be more anime with mcs that are people of colour or those that have a disability. Unlike yuri/yaoi in anime (there are more than you claim, like the annoying Dragon-Maid anime for example), there is very little in terms of diverse main characters in popular series. I’d love to see people ask for more of that than yuri if they really want diversity.

you're talking about anime here folks. diversity, in Japan? being different is an ANATHEMA to their society. people of color? are you nuts!? Japan is so doggone WEIRD about nationality and race! heck, the Indian girl in 'Wonder Egg Priority' surprised the hell outta me! :o and that was an all-original show! :o 'A Silent Voice' a deaf girl. 'Josee Tiger and Fish' girl in a wheelchair. 'I Want to Eat Your Pancreas'... ok i won't spoil that one but watch it and you'll see. or just read about it on the internet. 'Your Lie in April' ok same thing. 'In-Spectre' AKA 'Kyokou Suiri' female lead has one eye gouged out and one leg bit off below the knee by MONSTERS. 'Blue Period' brand spanking new show... cross-dressing male supporting character in highschool... harassed and abused by his PARENTS... poor guy can't even date because on-screen... his one 'romantic interest'... does a nice thing and lets him off easily, even gives him a hug during the breakup... which i thought was crazy nice and totally not what i imagined that scene would be like... but only his gramma treats him nicely.

'different people' do make it into anime. sometimes.

ok. here's an example. full on homosexual anime relationships between adult males over 18 and it's not hentai. not even a dozen in the past 20 years? right? BL is not my wheelhouse but i do keep mildly aware of the different genres. not that spirit hunter exorcist weird vibe bookstore glasses guy and the blond aggressive dude show. i couldn't get past ep1 because it was so... damn... ick...

isekai as a genre is 'self-insert mental masturbation' for the fans. you can put yourself into the MC and live another life. if you can't see yourself as the MC because he/she is too 'different' from you... i doubt you're going to read/watch it. also, manga anime etc. is still mostly controlled by the male fans' Yen in Japan. they vastly outnumber the female fans. if the creatives made more female-centric source materials there would be more anime using it and so forth.

BUT! see my point above about diversity. if you want to 'break the mold' etc. in the otaku culture... you're going online to self-publish or dojinshi self-print. the 'big publishing houses' won't risk serious public backlash in Japan.

here's one example QUITE recently! 'Please Tell Me! Galko-chan' online manga halted after mangaka arrested by police on charges of possessing child porn

NOW I AM NOT SAYING BEING GAY/PORTRAYING GAY RELATIONS ETC. IS EQUITABLE TO POSESSING CHILD PORN! i am NOT saying that. so no knee-jerk emotional rants ok?

but. Kadokawa, on the SAME DAY the mangaka's arrest went public on multiple news outlets... they yanked 'Galko-chan' off their website. what does Japan think of 'innocent until proven guilty?' i'm not Japanese, so you'd have to ask them.

also, if you're griping about 'Maid Dragon' hah. read the manga. she's basically drawing borderline porn in many instances. Kana has more than once 'ahem' inappropriately with her elementary school gal-pal. the anime SANITIZED THAT MANGA seriously hard!

as to the 'shut in' problem? think about it real realll REALLLL hard! the big popular isekai that just finished? 'Mushoku Tensei'. what happened when his family members finally drove him out of his 'den'? truck-kun shows up and dude dies. Subaru 'RE:Zero' well, he wasn't a true 'shut in'... but what happens when dude goes outside, hits up the local stop n rob for some goodies? he steps out the sliding doors of the store and is isekai-ed! and DIES ALOT! when he gets there.

now i know that's just two titles, but what is the subtext there? if the 'shut in' goes outside... bad stuff happens! mental health stigmas in Japan are active and widespread! sweeping stuff under the rug, that's the norm for them.

so, expecting diversity in anime is like hoping your donkey will lay an egg and a tiny elephant is born from it.

Looks like something Ive already watched numerous times. Will probably skip.
the reason it seems so generic at first glance is due to the fact that this anime (novel) is pretty much the original story which birthed and promulgated many of the generic tropes of isekai and its underlying formula. the original web novel was written in 2010 which to put into perspective, the original web novel for mushoku tensei which people often refer to as "the grandfather of isekai" was written 2 years later in 2012.

If it ends up being decent, I'll no doubt check it out.

I like the show most of the time. That said, I don't think I'll be able to like the character of Cayna. Most of the time she's very kind to the other characters, but sometimes something feels off. For example, when she summons Cerberus to watch the kid, and doesn't care one bit when the kid is shivering because he's drenched with Cerberus' saliva. She places a blanket on him but she doesn't solve the issue at all because Cerberus keeps drooling. A wet blanket won't help him at all.

Or when she talks about destroying Skargo's personality. I mean, it is supposed to be game, but after that, when they're ambushed by the bandits she convinces herself it's not a game but reality, and proceeds to completely obliterate a bandit by freezing him to dust. Then in the end she says a phrase about why life is important because this is not just a game. I think it would be ok for her to obliterate the bandit with the mindset that "it is a game", but when she does it just after deciding it's reality... I don't know. It looks like a disgusting and cold personality behind a mask of half-baked kindness and clumsiness.

So the MC's previous life resembles "Konno, Yuuki's life in SAO II". This should be fun.

Apart from the plot and graphics, the music presented in this anime is enough to make them compete with other fantasy genre anime. The arrangements they bring always make the atmosphere of Leadale and very beautiful to hear, Honestly to me after watching a lot of fantasy Isekai anime, the music in this anime is the most catchy to the point that if there was an album for it I would buy it. This is just my opinion in terms of anime theme music, as for the story and graphics I think it's not so bad, but if they don't skip some parts of the original it might be better.
