THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.
----------------------------------------
This chapter was completely unnecessary imo, the mangaka left enough meat in chapter 125 for the reader to derive the actions of Neena's mother on her own. The ending of Kasane wishing to be herself in 125 was poetic and incredible. This chapter adds little if anything and it focuses on Habuta one of the worst and the most sidecharactery pf characters. He's the only one who finds Kasane in the end... why? He was chasing Izana's shadow the whole time, which is why it makes sense when Kasane kisses him in ch 125 as a token of thanks from her mother, so why is he the one to discover her again? We are left with nothing in Nogiku's story just some filler and rambling. And it isn't even a full chapter just a few pages and then thanks. An Omake would have been better than this travesty.

GET RID OF THIS CHAPTER REEEEEEEEEE

Well, the series started out pretty interesting, but the characters were very fake and one dimensional in the long run...

The concept and story were interesting, if only it was an actual seinen and not another 'seinen' which gets it's title for including rape scenes, it could have been a darn good manga.

But that's as far as positives go... let's go onto characters - our protagonist: having over 100 chapters of an adult person thinking she is any special just because she is ugly is annoying... I can speak much more how terrible she was, but that would end up taking too much space... more than she deserves.

So with protagonist out of the way - let's go more into other characters who could be called main.. Neena - disappears too fast to leave impact. The two mothers backstory - meh, at best.
Nogiku was the closest to what could have been a good character but her build up gets ruined in just a few chapters and she becomes yet another one dimensional character.

All of those downsides are supported by the terrible theater concept.. theater was an entertainment which should have been long dead, yet still exists. It's fake, it's overly dramatic just a place for weak people to express their fake selves, I guess in a way it's a great place for the weak cast of characters we got, ironically.

There are countless more actual plot flaws I could mention... the most important one being the fact that even using lipstick sparingly, she should have ran out in half a year at most... No one even begins to bring up that problem till the very end, which made me very confused as that's the first thing that passed my mind, I thought it would be a story of how she only had half a year to live the life she wanted, which would actually be interesting to watch instead of what we got.
Another major flaw was how everyone tried to create some incredibly elaborate plan of revenge or whatever else wishes to come true instead of doing things that would lead to the solution much more easily...
The whole multi face swap thing was contradicting the way it should work. I could again continue with more minor gripes, but that is unnecessary at this point.

To end on a positive - it was mildly enjoyable, despite not being worthy the masterpiece and 'hidden gem' praises everyone throws at the series it's still something worth a read... the ending premise even almost made me want to raise the score bar slightly higher.. but in the end it ended up on a pretty slightly better than average note.
A strong 7 is what it gets, could have easily been much better, but too many flaws and characters being too fixated on something and feeling fake instead of real sadly can't get deserve much more.

Ehhh, I don't like all that "leave it up to the reader" bs I'm glad he gave us the full ending. Really good manga tbh

I felt the last chapters were a bit rushed, at least I had a hard time following what was happening. I liked the fact that Kasane ended up having the face of the woman she probably hurted the most, Neena's mom, it was very bittersweet. For Kingo to find Kasane, I agree with Mywifesson, it was a weird turn. It would have needed more time for Kingo's change of character to feel realistic. Otherwise this manga is a 10/10, gonna read it again just for the love of it.

This one really fell apart. The lipstick faceswap idea was genius, but the manga had nothing else going on besides that gimmick. The art had its moments, but it wasn't anything special.

It dragged out for too long, the characters were all trash, the story was a joke.

The manga in general was a trainwreck, but the ending was the cherry on top of this idiotic story. One of the most pointless stories I've seen. Christ, this author is a fucking hack.

I liked it and thought it was solid. All the characters are flawed, even the good ones. I did kind of want to see a happy ending for Kasane after all the suffering she went through, but it was pretty obvious from the start that she and Kingo (who was a piece of shit) wouldn't get one. Nogiku's wish arguably came true in the end, in that Kasane's life (as an actress and figuratively as Kasane Fuchi) ended right after the brightest point - when she was finally able to stand on stage with her own face and got recognition for her talent, not borrowed beauty. Nogiku finally got some peace in her life, good for her.

The rape scenes served a clear purpose IMO, and that is to showcase the theme of obsession for both Atae (the father) and Nogiku - him being obsessed with the persona of "Sukeyo Fuchi" that didn't exist, and her - with avenging her mother and herself. The ghosts of the mothers appearing to their daughters were a combination of subconscious desire, conscience and self-preservation instincts; interesting how the mothers seemed to be close friends until Izana got involved with Atae while, again, chasing after her obsession of seeing Nagi in him. Even at the end, Izana was prepared to live out her days in imprisonment if it meant Sukeyo, Nogiku and Kasane could escape.

Methinks the final shot is Kingo finally tracking Kasane down, but thinking he'd tracked down Tsugumi instead. It would be poetic for him to kill both mother and daughter while thinking he was avenging them. After all, he lost both women right when he finally got to see into their heart. And Tsugumi got her revenge, even if she died, but most importantly found peace in knowing that she was right and the one she'd interacted with wasn't her daughter. And Nogiku being stabbed as well leads be to believe she told Tsugumi about her part in Neena's death as well.

10/10, not sure if I want to read it again - maybe after a lot of time passes.

how come tanzawa tsugumi knew about the permanent swap? she probably took the lipstick from nogiku, that's why she was injured there when amagasaki had her in his arms. Tsugumi used the lipstick with blood, then killed herself, but why didn't kasane used the lipstick again to turn things around? she accepted tsugumi's vengence too easily in my opinion.
at least nogiku survived and lived with amagasaki, now 5 years later and she's calling him by his name "yuuto", very cute.

In chapter 26 Fuchi dies, at least her soul does, ironically a hundred chapters later the series ends. To be honest I have skipped these one hundred chapters because I was looking for a little light and I found it, if you do the same thing, I read the previous chapter (125) and read the last one, then it will make sense. I can't tell myself that I feel bad for Fuchi or Habuta, they both searched for the ending they got but the scene in the cabin was unexpected but it was perfect for this type of series, he found her.
I like to post in manga forum when I feel it is worth it, so people will think. "Shit, is her again" or something.

People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English.

This manga was fucking great!
At first I kinda wish it ended at chapter 125 because it felt somehow inferior to it, but this was indeed a wild ride!

Oh God, here I am again. It took me a while but here I am. Truth be told, they got what they deserved, if not better. I never felt bad about what happened to Habuta, Izana or Kasane, they destroyed and shattered the lives of more than one person and just because they felt remorse for those they hurt did they start to feel sorry for them and treated them like saints. I read in Sousou no Frieren the following words "Do you know why demons speak? To deceive people" and for me they are demons. When reading the last pages I have realized that Nogiku, although she seemed to have forgiven Kasane, left the judgment to Neena's mother, Tsugumi and although I thought that the end meeting between Habuta and Kasane would be good for both of them, I wonder, they have nothing and seeing each other will be remind them of their sins, perfect.

In another mention I adored the ending of Izana, she realized how his husband mistreated Fuchi all those years (being Fuchi herself) and then in madness she was killed by her only "friend".

It took me a while to finish the manga, after Neena's death, I didn't feel motivated enough to read this.

Anyway, I didn't imagine Kasane to become an old lady ngl.

Not trying to argue that kasane is a masterpiece or anything but this is too funny...if you hate theatre then why did you read a manga about theatre?

You can't think too much in this kind of manga, you should ride it with your emotion. For a fiction with such bizzare theme, this manga is a solid 10/10. Gotta say Im even obsessed with it.

It was decent from Chapter 125 until this chapter happened...
The whole process of acting and her internal issues being connected to the theme and play she's performing was fairly interesting, even though kinda dull, but her struggle was what kept me captivated.
I don't remember since I completed it a few days ago, but it was disappointing in the end.

Damn, what an ending. It was quite open yes, but all characters got their conclusions and Kasane and Kingo got punished for their actions, I’m satisfied, as much as wanted to see the last of Uno, since he was featured in the last chapter. Also can we appreciate that Nogiku learned tho wholeheartedly love Kasane? I really liked that.
