One of the key staff of the anime (in fact he ended up being one of the three Chief Animation Directors of the anime) has been tweeting about scheduling issue for quite a while.

伊藤公規 (Kiminori Itou) is an experienced animation director who frequently works on A-1 / CW's projects.
His twitter: https://twitter.com/kiminori114514

There were probably tweets earlier concerning the anime, but I'm only translating those since Oct in here chronologically.
These are rough translation (I tried my best). Please correct me if you spot any mistake.

Oct 15 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1448839646805258242)
"Akebi-chan has been announced, Bisque Doll has been announced... Hmm...? Well, so be it then."

Oct 21 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1451135485737267206)
"Is the difference in strength between the different production lines within the same anime studio due to the different levels of skill of different producers?"

Oct 24 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1452153521055227913)
"Being an anime airing in Jan, this IS the time to make the announcement. What's going on?"

Oct 24 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1452207851703726080)
"I've joined the production." (after the official announcement of the anime)

Oct 24 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1452209536446521344)
"Among the three Jan anime by CW, announcement of 24-ku is the latest as it is behind schedule"

Nov 1 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1455089327411654661)
"The layouts are gathered, the layout check is in progress. But there is no animation director."

Nov 2 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1455398912605384705)
"I'm aboard a sinking boat made out of mud, haha"

Nov 3 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1455789857075200001)
"I've seen a lot of poor quality drawings in the projects I've been involved in, but this time I think I'm going to witness a collapse in quality... Seriously."

Nov 15 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1460099725546254342)
"As the production schedule is shit, the dark history of Cloverworks (formerly A1 Koenji Studio), Qualidius Code, comes to my mind."

Nov 15 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1460267509823643654)
"(In a state of mind of enlightenment) It's gonna be okay, we still have foreign outsourcing."

UPDATE [Dec 12]
Dec 10 (https://twitter.com/kiminori114514/status/1469212480698458115)
"Hmm, there are still about 20 more cuts of layout of the first episode needed to be delivered to CAD"

Not really, this is actually very common in anime production.
There are numerous tweets on what part someone has worked on, how is it feel like to work with someone in particular, how is it behind-the-scene.
I mean, you see, Kiminori Itou is simply tweeting these using his personal twitter account with his full name.
As long as you don't disclose plot / illustrations without permission then it's okay.
Just that they were rarely translated for the English community, unless like in this case, which I think many people would find this interesting.

Only hope they won’t send an employee to the hospital like WEP. Aniplex, treat your kids better than that can you.
This is pretty common nowadays huh. Nakayama and Yabuta also tweet about Chainsaw Man and Vinland Saga production as well.

the staff is good but hope they can pull it off somehow since the character designs aren't that easy to make it move too also it's itou's first debut as CAD so good luck for him although it seems things aren't going as he wanted :\.

Wow, thanks for the insight, OP! This show really isn't on my genre scope but I happen to see the PV posted by MyAnimeList's Twitter today so curiosity got the best of me.

Still, it is probably my first time seeing Tweets from "behind the scenes" like these. I sure do hope the CloverWorks team is alright. The PV was... mm, the art leaves a lot to be desired. If Kiminori Itou' s Tweets were indeed referring to this project (or at least part of it), then it sure is in trouble.

Yes, I can understand it, sometimes Aniplex's production line within A-1 Pictures and CloverWorks don't have good plans in producing original anime (I remember too how Project 22/7 was really a joke).

Three shows made by one studio in one season.
One of them has to be a disaster. And looks like this one would have lowest priority,
But at the same time they neglected promised neverland while making new IP - Wonder Egg Priority.

Given back at early Nov Itou mentioned that there was no Animation Director yet, and now he ends up being one of the three Chief ADs, this probably starts as a makeshift move to find anyone capable filling in the role. One CAD is the norm and two CAD is uncommon (usually when the anime is exceptionally action-focus so one of the CAD focus on action sequences). Three CAD is very rare, as the post is meant to standardize and scrutinize drawing style, having three people doing it really goes against its purpose.

it's not rare for anime production with tight schedules since 3 can be the norm for it and it can increase from there if the production isn't holding up well within the schedule.

but anyways i agree that isn't something normal for an anime production and shows that it's probably the most tightest project for Cloverworks next winter which is funny because it's an original anime that should have gotten the most decent schedule as you can expect but seems aniplex pushed for it as they did before with wonder egg despite that having a different issue (also despite having the pandemic hindering most of their productions.)

And in recent 2 months they announced 3 new anime seasons. Those guys are crazy with scheduling. (I mean SpyxxFamily Shadow House S2 and Kunoichi Tsubaki)
And I don't think 3 anime in one season from single studio is normal. 2 of course. But it's not usual seing 3 even if one of them would be a movie.
This season OLM makes 3 tv series. But I have to say, 2 of them look average or below average.

CW is just co-producing SpyxFamily with Wit so it's not a full production for them but your point is still stands out.
