Well, as expected, this episode was of an episodic nature and not connected to the main story. That being said, while it wasn't as gripping as the first two episodes, it was a lot of fun and brought back the usual Lupin zaniness. The whole time I knew that the rich guy was a disguise with that silly double mustache, but I also figured that Lupin and his crew weren't that bad with disguises, so it wasn't them. Talking about disguises, when Zenigata found Goemon and Jigen and then saw that they were masks, he should have known that there was even another layer behind those fake looking faces. Seems like they keep finding new ways to fool him.

Every time I think Jigen has made his most luminous aimed shot, he pulls another even crazier one. This episode really captured the comedic nature of this franchise quite well. I am sure that those two young men won't be showering anytime soon.

Next episode appears to be another episodic adventure. Hopefully it's as fun as this one was.

This felt like a Lupin III: Part II episode.

Wait, the next episode is written by Mamoru Oshii?

Suprisingly this filler is really good😱I mean I wasn'expected much from it but wow it is way better than most of the part 4 episodes.I hope next will be nice too.I start to appreciate the truthtelling of japanese people working in the film business. The trailer's shots are showing up from episode to episode(american people usually trick us with shots never showing in the film/show)and the things the japanese cast members said in interviews also seemed to be truth:Lupin's unique personality here and good filler episodes.

Part 6's episodic run begins with stealing a one of a kind ticket from a very wealthy family. Of course Fujiko would be the one to beat Lupin to the punch, but she ends up getting caught. The butler's men decide to tie Fujiko to the train tracks after she supposedly swallowed the ticket. Luckily, Lupin and his crew were on the scene to rescue her while the two boys who were following Fujiko in the beginning managed to find her first. Jigen used one of his trick shots to redirect the train from colliding with Fujiko. Turns out that Fujiko didn't swallow the ticket, but left it next to the elephant and gave the two boys a kiss on the cheek as a reward for saving her.

This episode felt like it was written by an 89 year old man (and it was). It was basically red jacket Lupin.

Most Lupin anime isn't based off of anything in particular other than the characters themselves so in effect isn't it all filler lol?

Red jacket all over, from the random temporarily important characters to the small child that somehow has a big part in the plot. Thankfully not as severe as the child-centered episodes in red jacket at least. Just a lot of fun and Lupin trying to rip off old rich guys as usual. Curious to see if they'll go as far pulling in some of the random supernatural elements that show up in past Lupin plots. I don't expect them to go as far as Jesus' vampire sister but it'd be nice to acknowledge that aspect of the series in some way. Also curious to see what Oshii has for us.

I preferred Part V's seriousness to the 70s Lupin antics I grew up on, but I would be lying if I said they weren't a great time. I really like how every one in Lupin's gang saves the day, so Fujiko being in danger doesn't really mean anything. Because Fujiko saves the day plenty of times too. Lupin is so rare in how every single member gets a chance to shine and be diminished by the others. Its a shame this type of story doesn't exist as much anymore.

I don't blame Zenigata for being fooled by masks. He's been tricked by masks in every fashion you can count. From gluing masks onto civilians to throw him off the trail to switching appearances and personalities just to trip him up. I think it's more impressive how he always finds his way over to the gang anyway, depending on who is writing the episode. Hopefully we get a Zenigata/Holmes duel worthy of their deductive skills. But I doubt it will work out that way.

Next episode is directed by anime royalty Mamoru Oshii. Will it meet our expectations? Tune in next week to find out.

This came across as something you'd see in Part 2, which isn't a bad thing at all. It was pretty comical throughout, but for me, Goemon and Jigen fooling Zenigata was the best part imo. It was a great return to form and overall a fun episode.

Also, hats off to Jigen for another amazing trick shot. Love seeing that any day.

Looking forward to what Oshii has in store in the next episode too.

I am not against "filler" episodes, but the focus on those two simp brothers killed the episode for me. It had some funny moments at least such as Goemon and Jigen's layers of disguises, or Lupin riding on a pony, but I didn't enjoy the guest characters so it wasn't fun for me.

Jigen is not just a marksman, he's beyond a sharpshooter! he's a grandmaster of bullet ricochet!!!
5/5.

The butler used the snow to stop the train so he could murder the Duke and take his place. Since the train can clear debris quickly it was on time regardless and not noticed.
