Hi.
Story spoilers ahead :

It terms of story between this movie & the 13 episode tvshow which one do you think is better?
Personally I prefer the the latter because unlike the movie it wasn't just focused on VioletXGilbert and it dealt with diffrent themes and diffrent stories and it had actual character development while the movie was just a epilouge , I also think it wasn't really necessary to get Gilbert back .
dont get me wrong though i still think the movie was great.

Ps ; I've always hated Gilbert , he's just annoying.

I dont think u can compare the both.The reason why this is movie is so good is because it gave the fans its long anticipated ending. As for which is better ? How do u pick one? You seriously cant compare them.Both are good .

But the movie just gives a conclusion to the story. You can’t compare them since it’s nothing different. They just chose to adapt the ending into a movie

I prefer the episodic stories of the series but even the movie had some of that with the Yuris plotline.

I mean I cried at both a lot. And for me it's both perfect. It's just makes the other thing better. The movie the anime and the anime the movie.

Both are good either way, in what terms are we comparing them to though, since in some aspect I would favor the other and in another aspect I would favor the other one as well. Both had its own appeals, as to how the TV show had different character in almost each episode that plays a role in developing Violet as the main character. In where almost all of them has their tear jerking story. The movie was something that the reader nor viewer anticipated for, it was just a closure that perhaps myself and others awaited for. The closure that was necessary and needed in my opinion to end this beautiful masterpiece. However in terms of better story, I would say the TV show entirely ofc due to its length of the story itself that runs for 13 episode. But the story of the movie itself was great as well but you can't really compare a 1 to 2 hours movie to a 13 episode show you know. But nevertheless, Violet is truly one of my favorite and one of the masterpiece anime out there. Sorry for the lengthy typing~

TV TV TV. The show was soo good. I’d rate the show a 10 and the movie an 8. Don’t get me wrong the movie was good but i didn’t like gilbert as a character he just kinda annoyed me. Also, the show had a sombre kinda feel to it and it hit so well in contrast with the story so i’d say the show (especially the ending with the birthday letters was such a good part). But either way the movie was still good

Tv show by far. I don't like Gilbert either. I think him being alive ruined parts of the tv show. The line that episode 10 (The one with the mother dying) ended with has less meaning now.

I couldn't compare them, because the feels for the movie wouldn't have hit so damn hard without all the build-up from the series. That being said, I cried like a baby for both.

mmmm both were really really good. the series was really good with violet’s character development and the movie had such a good conclusion I don’t think I could compare them,, both get a 10/10 from me :>

I'll still prefer the TV show better than the movie. The movie especially

was ruined the character development of Violet, and it was so unnecessary. The movie felt cliched and more focused on the relationship between the matured woman and the coward, and that cheap drama in the second half of the film was😑. 9/10 for the series but 2/10 for the movie.

According to me... TV is slightly better. Don't get me wrong. I love the movie, especially the yuris Arc.

I'm late but I prefer the movie over the tv show. I've watched the TV show when it was airing and honestly I don't like Violet's customers and their constant drama especially if we have a single episode for each of them. It feels forced, at least a few of them were still relevant for the movie.

Violet Evergarden has a strong start (tv show), a weak middle part (tv show) and an ok ending (the movie)

Have to agree, when it comes to how sucessfull each of these two entries where doing what they wanted, I feel the TV series achieved way more and it ended with me satisfied and grateful for having watched this, whereas the movie definitly needed some extra scenes, especially if you are gonna call it the end of the series.

The move almost makes the series feel like the prologue, I wanted to absolutely love the series and ended up very very liking it, but what the movie did and how it established its own world not only solidified itself as a fantastic piece of art to me, but it affirmed the strengths of all that came before too.

It will always be this movie to me though, with doing everything it came to do before right and hitting it out of the park, championship MVP level style
