So far for me its quite similar to deca dence and made in abyss. I dont think any non japanese watchers have read the novel considering there is no english translation to be found. But if it can keep up this pace, i think I'll be at least an 8/10.

I love Dorohedoro,Kekkai Sensen,and Dr.Stone do yeah I can see these similarities lmao you can also add Made in Abyss into that mix for me personally

Made in Abyss was already added as "MIA" haha it would be bizarre not talking about it

I didn't know it wasn't translated! Do you really think it was that good? The first episode to me was nothing really new and pretty basic in a sense.

I didn't know it wasn't translated! Do you really think it was that good? The first episode to me was nothing really new and pretty basic in a sense.

I dont try to look at the story or the setting all that much, I watch anime for pure enjoyment, the story can be as generic as it wants to be tbh, I wouldnt care, if its enjoyable ill definitely rate it highly.

I get what you mean as mostly I watch them for enjoyment as well. However, from only the first episode and I'd be more than happy to change my mind, I felt like this specific anime was very average, and even in the "enjoyment" department was just using trite dynamics

Hmm, well I personally liked it, I think there is a lot of potential plot wise and enjoyment wise. If it can build up on that first episode, maybe it can turn into sth special. I wont have any expectations tho just in case, considering how little is known about tbe source material,

The girl is smart like Senku even in small age. That's the only similarity with Dr. Stone I found.

Yea, the setting reminds me of "Made in Abyss" with the layers.

And some reminds of "Gurren Lagann" with the makers that drills stuff to explore the labyrinth. (and humanity is somehow forced to live underground like Gurren Lagann)

(TBH, I skipped Deca Dence since it didn't look that appealing, watching trailers, similarities seems to be the art/ animation style and the girl's plot for growing up)

As for Dr.Stone... only thing here is just the "invention/ science" part. (tho Dr.Stone's based on history/past/current science, Sakugan is a mix of past + future science)
