| Why not give it to Sentai/HiDive license. Their Fall season is bare to watching. |

AniplexJP is one of the 'money guys' behind that movie. . think about SAO's anime... world-wide... Aniplex gets a cut of it. every. thing. all of it, Aniplex makes some money off it. games. dubs. subs. disks. the movie. they probably don't have a finger in the books or manga, but they might. Aniplex has been known to subsidize a few publishing projects now and then. the merch, as always, makes a crapton of cash. NETFLIX only got into anime in 2014. Sony created Aniplex in 1995. :> additionally, if you don't know how the negotiations go? if NF doesn't invest in the original production of an anime... they would have to BUY the streaming rights from somebody ON that original production committee. like... Aniplex. :> if NF is lucky and the original property owner... say the author or mangaka... still has negotiation rights to those international streaming licenses... NF could go straight to them. which in Japan is rarer than hen's teeth... because authors/artists generally SELL those rights ENTIRELY to a production committee or their publisher. then the anime 'money guys' talk with the 'book/manga' money guys and everybody shakes hands and gives a pittance of a profit to the creative that originally worked everything up. see the above article and other sources listed there about how much Demon Slayer's mangaka made off of Mugen Train's movie. :) |
