I'm not sure what it is but something just feels very off about the art style in this anime, for me. It doesn't really feel like it's CGI but it doesn't feel like it's drawn either, it feels like it's something in between. It's the same feeling I get when I watched Kill la Kill and Soul Eater after watching Naruto, the styles are just different but I got used to it after a bit. But for this anime, something just doesn't sit right...

It's a mix of cgi and 2d with maybe some rotoscoping done in there. When I first started HnK I was bit put off by its style as well, but it quickly became one of my favorite shows of all time animation wise.
If you keep watching you'll probably get used to it and enjoy the beautiful cinematography and animation as it is

I'd recommend for you to continue, naturally. Its mainly CGI so it will take a bit of time to get used to, but once you are past that, i think you'll come to find that it has amazing visuals for what it is. The colour design is genius and the animation is visually stunning at times.

If it bothers you to the point where you can't actually focus on the anime itself, only then would I tell you to drop it.

In my opinion, once you get over the initial, "this anime looks kinda strange" phase, I lowkey think its the best CG anime in the whole medium

The CG makes the artstyle look weird at first but as someone who has read the manga it is pretty spot on for most parts and captures the style of the manga well.

I thought the story and characters were a little thin, but enjoyed watching this series because of the visuals.
The colors were really fresh and invigorated (?!) and the character design, especially of some of the invading “bad guys” was jarring and fascinating.
Overall, I thought the whole idea of daddy monk protecting his harem of mineral girls was literally patronizing and slightly misogynistic. And the bad guy of the week format was not particularly imaginative. But the art kept me coming back to see the sinister unhuman villain aliens.

I think the reason is that they mixed 2d and 3d, to give the cgi more a 2d feel and energy
