| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Argh, I got angry watching this episode ! First at Suzu for lying. Then at Yuu for hesitating in believing her or not. I was beginning to like Kei... until he lied about the medaillon ! That was disgusting ! And Yuu was very stupid in this episode ! Poor Miki... He gets jealous and accuses her for giving hope to all these guys, while he doesn't have the right to do so as he has done much worst (he knows Suzu's feelings, he didn't push her away when she kissed him and he didn't do anything to make her stop chasing him, while Miki pushed Kei when he kissed her and she tried to explain him that she was with Yuu... Anyway, Miki deserves much better than stupid Yuu or Kei... |

| The fact is Yuu doesn't love Miki, he's not as affected by his rival as she is by hers. Can he even love anyone at all? He's so distant and full of himself!?! However even though I don't like the guy I have to admit he's got a point. I know it's unfair to expect Miki to put a distance between her and her friend Kei while Yuu can't distance himself from Suzu and even let himself being kissed, but the facts remain Miki simply remain or pretend to be clueless about encouraging Kei's feelings. I'm sorry I know it looks double standard but she should have shunned Kei a long time ago. The attractive sex has to say no to the attracted sex and not the other way round. Unfortunately that's the truth about relationships. This is a dirty mess! |

| God I hate the misunderstanding trope in anime, it's so frustrating. I'll give it a pass for this because this aired in the 90s, but auuuuuuugh I wished it didn't go down this path. Miki and Yuu are too insecure, Miki is constantly afraid Suzu will take Yuu away, and now Yuu decided to trust Kei's word over Miki's. Oh, and Yuu thinks talking is useless? Man, if you talked and tried to sort out these problems maybe it wouldn't have resorted to this! Like, at the end of the day, I get it, Suzu and Kei needed to be introduced to keep the story going, it was unusual for Miki and Yuu to get together so fast when that feels like the end game goal. Hopefully this gets sorted out quick, idk if I want to deal with a dozen episodes or more of those two mad at each other because of misunderstandings. (Though at the end of the day, I still like this anime for Meiko's love plot most of all lol, just gotta hope no BS happens with her and I'll be fine) |

Misunderstanding is the worst ever trope in old anime, which is why I loathe Maison Ikkoku. But to be fair, for writers who are uncreative and completely stuck, misunderstanding is probably the easiest way to get things done. Insultingly cheap and distasteful. Stupid garbage trope. |
