LainIwakuraKun said:Okay guys, welcome to my next arena fight for glory. Today is a wonderful day to tear apart another awful series that was actually really bad. Just to warn you, this anime should not be watched in vain. Will I be able to win this epic fight against this evil anime? Let’s find out. I’m also only doing the first season for now because I haven’t watched the second season yet.
The first major issue with this anime is Koro Sensei himself as a character. The whole plot really centers itself around him. The issue more just being he’s used as a device for the plot. Alright, so the whole plot is that the students at a place called Kunugigaoku Middle School who are placed as delinquents are sent to a place called The End Class or Class 3-E have to assassinate their teacher before they graduate when the year is over. As you can see, there’s already a problem. There is literally no justifiable reason that Koro Sensei wants to destroy the world other than just literally destroying the world. There’s no reason, he just wants to kill everybody I guess. It actually gets much worse than that too as you experience his actions later on which not only makes his motivations entirely questionable but makes his character inconsistent as well. Because there are so many issues with this series that it becomes nigh incomprehensible at times, it really devolves into the most pathetic pile of trash you’ll ever see in your life. His backstory was that apparently the government wanted to create a superweapon hence Koro Sensei came forth. I don’t know why the government would need an octopus mutant thing with Mach 20 speed for anything but okay. At least they state that he was created for weapon purposes where I’ll give some credit but whatever I guess. Okay, so here’s the real thing that makes this character offensive to me. The thing is is that he actually cares about his students. In Episode 16, he even gives them a pool party. There’s also a time when him and Karma go to the movies together. Why would any human being plan to kill their beloved teacher? Like seriously? Oh but apparently he just wants to blow up the world. Why kill anyone if you actually have feelings for people? How frigging bad is the writing that they don’t even understand this about it’s characters? I also find it really contrived that he just signs a stupid contract to be a school teacher. He could just blow up the world already and the show would be done already but apparently he needed to sign a contract otherwise there wouldn’t be anything in the story. This really also goes to show how inconsistent his character is also. Seriously, how is this not contrived?
Another thing I hate and we’ll get back to this in my extended thoughts also is the students themselves. I like only remember a select few of them. I remember Karma, Nagisa, and this one other kid that I don’t even remember the name of. The rest of the students are so bland and generic that they have virtually no character at all and are just filler. Let’s start with Karma. Karma has no other traits than just being cocky. He also just figures out everything because of course he can and he’s literally just a stereotype. There is this one kid though who’s really annoying. He states something stupid about just wanting a lot of money but whatever I guess. I’ll actually talk about Nagisa in my extended thoughts. Believe it or not, he’s actually the best character in the series. This is only because he’s the only one who actually develops but he’s still very bland though. Whatever.
Assassination Classroom has a lot of problems. A lot of it stems from being pretentious with it’s writing and most of it’s characters being 1-Dimensional and stereotypes. It’s also got issues with showing fanservice and we’ll get there by talking about a character named Irina Jelavich. A spy wannabe we’ll talk about in my extended thoughts. I won’t give it a 0/10 (Infathomable) because it at least has slight competence but that only goes a little bit though. It’s still garbage though. That’s why my rating will be a 1/10 (Horrendous). Alright, another anime torn down. Stay tuned for more awesome reviews. See you guys.
