Yes, this movie takes place after the events of the main Aria series, which consists of:
"Aria the Animation"
"Aria the Natural"
"Aria the Origination"
Dunno why MAL doesn't say those are related, but they are.

Don't forget about specials, picture dramas, "Aria the OVA" and "Aria the Avvenire" for full experience

Yea I mean this is the swan song to 57+ episodes worth of content, and even more if you include the manga. You're not gonna have a clue as to what's going on if you haven't seen the whole show, lol.

I read Aqua and Aria.. but haven't watched anything.
I should be able to watch this movie just fine, right?

Unless the anime had some additional original content to which there'll be references and so on, but I don't think that is the case?

It's the second part of a movie trilogy so you'll definitely wanna watch Aria the Avvenire first.

But isn't that just an adaption of the manga? And I read that.

No, Aqua and Aria were already adapted as Aria the Animation, The Natural, and The Origination. Avvenire and Crepuscolo are original movies written by the author as a follow up to the end of the manga.

Ohh, I see. I had no idea there was more.
Thanks for the explanation!
