I wouldn't really call it lewd. This is a romance anime and romance has many aspects so it's just it's just like romantic comedies are.

I hope that there will be a season 2 explaining this, I don’t think their intention was to shove in a whole ton of mystery in a 23 minutes long episode. That’s just impossible.

Yeah, fixing my statement a bit. There are still quite a ton of content between the current story of the anime and that event. So unless they decided to drop some backstory, it will need a lot of episodes to reach that point. But consider how important support characters are in this series (because they appear a lot later on), I think it would be hard for them to intergrate the characters in without adapting all chapters
