Questions before watching the last episode.

I've been watching the series since its beginnings but by dint of watching several seasonal and finished anime at the same time, I got a little lost in the story. Reading the summary of the manga on Wikipedia, it is written that Moriarty's goal is to bring down the English bourgeoisie but also to lead Holmes to commit a murder. And it's on this second point that I'm a bit lost. Why does he want this? To prove that someone is corruptible?

Also, at the end of the last episode, he comes to see Holmes at his house and asks him to finish their story. And there too, I don't get it. Does he accept to be saved or helped? And why does Holmes want to save him despite his crimes? I don't understand how he consider William as a friend. Moreover, what does Holmes promise to the queen? I have my theories but I prefer to have the light of a third party.

For your first question I suppose he would want Holmes to commit murder to make him completely compatible for his final plan(Although I don't remember him wanting Holmes to do that). As for the rest of the question I suppose they are a mystery yet, to be cleared in the last episode.
I maybe wrong on these points but let's see how the last episode plays out...

Making Holmes able to kill people probably a part of his plan bc we all know that someway, someone going to kill him and maybe Moriarty wanted Holmes to kill him bc personal reason

I think Holmes wanted to save Moriarty bc he approve Moriarty ideal but not the way he execute those ideal so by saving him i think Holmes will convince Moriarty to become good or something like that eventhough Moriarty death is inevitable

Holmes treat Moriarty as a friend probably bc he like the cases that Moriarty give him and just doesn't care about the noble who got kill in the progress bc thay are rotten anyways

The rest are probably myster that later reveal a plot point in the story

"You made me being the best Detective in London, a hero who exposes the misdeeds of the aristocrats. But it's not just that. Behind every case, there has been a shadow of you. In other words, I've always been dancing in the palm of your hand. But, you never imagined that I would kill Milverton, did you? Not everything is going to your way."
Holmes said that after he shots Milverton. So, in the original plan, at least if Milverton never showed up and interfered with Moriarty Plans, I don't think William ever wanted Holmes to become a murderer. I think that's how it is. However, I viewed from the relationship between Holmes and William in the manga, Williamーindeedーimplicitly shows that he really wants to die to be killed by Holmes. Someone who is equal to him, a rival, and a friend. So, in the end, he will turn Holmes into a murderer but yeah, just because he kill William; the criminal, the Lord of the Crimes. At this rate, Holmes would not ultimately be "punished by law" because what he did was "punish" a true criminal. William wanted Holmes to determine the end of his plan and his life.

• William refused to be saved. But, well, Holmes did everything to save him. William, in the end, accept his defeat. Although he did not expect Holmes to be willing to jump into the Thames and "die" with him.
• What does Holmes promise to the queen?
Well, It explained on the manga. Before he was summoned by the queen, he said that he would go before the queen with some conditions. The queen wants Holmes to capture William, dead or alive. In return, Holmes secretly imposed on the parliaments regarding the arrest of the Lord of Crimes (since Holmes wants William to be saved) as well as the abolition of preferential treatment for the aristocrats as soon as possible (since this was the wish and purpose of the Moriarty plan. Holmes proposed this after finally understood all of William's plans all along...and as an intermediary between the Queen and Moriarty. Moriarty couldn't convey it directly to the Queen, they only gave a message. Holmes who "translated" the message for the queen lol)
