I told myself that I would watch every series of fate and then I remembered... this...
Basically, is this worth watching for a guy not into sho-jo or anything similar to sailor moon(but still might watch madoka magica). So yeah basically is this light hearted or does it have a darker theme

The first season has a lighter tone, but it gets darker over time, and in my view, it can be a bit boring at first, but it gets more interesting in the later seasons, mainly in the movie, which presents a cooler Shirou, similar to Kiritsugu.

It's part of Fate/ franchise, so at least cast is top notch. But it's not ufotable level of animation. Comedy is also very good, because as wise men once said "You don't write comedy. You write characters.
Also, Mahou Shoujo aspect is also palatable, even if you're not the fan if the genre.

Yes, in fact, if you pay attention to the scene where

you will have a bigger understanding of the depth within the Fate universe. I dare say this anime is pivotal to anyone who wants to truly get into the lore

Facts.
Plus the Mahou Shoujo aspect is mostly used as a satire to the genre, if anything.
The 1st Season is heavy on Moe/SoL (Barely following the manga) but Season 2 and on becomes very good and worth watching.
Don’t expect Ufotable orgasmic animation though, but it’s pretty good overall.

I’d never thought I’d see the day where I’d watch a magical girl spin-off to deepen myself in the lore of a serious franchise. Oh well it’s anime so what did I expect :)

for story ? yes , it is worth it as fuck. but if you are looking for fbi- i mean loli lesbo kissing clips , i will yeah on that as well. overall pretty fun watch imo

Yes it's worth it, it's my favorite fate spin off and I have seen my fair share of fate (but I have yet to read strange/fake)

Yes it get's darker later on, in 3rei it basically transforms into heavens feel.

If the fanservice is to much for you read the source manga.

Its not really worth it tbh but as a great man once said 'it has lesbian lolis kissing' so I still watched it
