----------------------------------------
With Yamagami gone, Maeda missing and Kurusu remaining, the stage of the vampires start its infectious reign, while the mechanized Artificial Vampire Unit just lays waste to whatever it sees. Definitely feels like Purgatory for the lonewolf.

The enthusiastic Aoi just wants to get back to her job of newspaper reporting, while the split vision of Kurusu definitely is hallucinating the mind. And for those officers that have the vials of anti-vampire vaccine antidotes (that are definitely from Ascra origin), it certainly causes more suspicions when faced with vampires.

It's sad to see that Yamagami's wife is still living nicely, while the regret strewns down Kurusu's face, and quite possibly with revenge.

As expected, Rufus with Lieutenant General Nakajima, and the obfuscation of growing vampires with Ascra blood, things are looking grim. And notice when Rufus is singing "Danny Boy", it's pretty much a diaspora of the looming danger. There are bad vampires, but there are good ones as well, and Tenmanya houses them for a hope to house the young uns. Get ready to fight, because all hell is breaking loose!

Stay safe, Kurusu, the world is not safe out there.

The special forces are here and they ain't holding anything back.

Kurusu what seems like being the only survivor in his force going around places and trying to help others as what he feels like his duty is. He went to see Yamagami's house to see if his wife is doing alright after that earthquake. She asked him what kind of man he was? What he told made her happy. He's really missing his comrades. Poor guy, I feel bad for him.

People being vampires here and there and the ones who are already vampires acting weird after the vaccines. Tenmaya is sheltering the vampires with three new additions now providing them the nourishment they need to survive in this harsh society. But, looks like forces are here already and Kurusu has no choice but to fight.

Kurusu is so hot and cool in this episode! I always think that he's just a hotshot rookie of the year employee secondary character. Now he's a main character and he doesn't disappoint!

Interesting that the artificial vampire units don't attack Kurusu, I don't think it's because Kurusu is higher ranking vampire, but because there's some mechanism tweaked by army to prevent friendly-fire, otherwise they'd attack each other, as they're all vampire. The vampire unit still consider Kurusu to be "friend", but that maybe change after the latest encounter. We'll have to see.

Kurusu is alone in this world without his comrades, pretty sad if you ask me. I'm dying to know what happened to Maeda, hopefully we're updated next episode

Cool addition in the visuals at the end of the opening: Kurusu's military cap flies off and Code's Zero room is completely destroyed.

It was quite tough to watch, Kurusu is all alone in this world without his comrades. At least he was able to smile when he found out that Aoi and Yamgami's wife were safe; he's so pure and kind and I can't see him like that, please. The title of the episode is self-explanatory: because of the earthquake and the "vampire disease" (aka the army giving Ascra to all the citizens), the whole country is slowly becoming true Hell. It seems like that it's still part of Nakajima's plan, but he's always shown that he didn't want to involve innocents. Mhh...

Two things that caught my interest. First of all, a soldier wearing the same uniform as Kurusu's visited Tomiko; maybe it was Maeda? I think he's the only one who could have given that object to his wife. Also, the vampire unit with purple eyes who rebelled and killed the others... so it is possible to regain consciousness after drinking Ascra? Anyway, Rufus is crazy in the head and I absolutely love that lmao. Another great episode!

I'm just glad that Kurusu is safe, and he got to see Aoi.
I really wanted to know what happened with Maeda, plus he was probably the one that went to Yamagami's house to give his wife that memento?!

If I remember correctly, it was the lighter that Yamagami used to light Maeda's cigarette before dying. So yeah, it was probably him!

Kurusu is the only remaining member at the moment, Maede is missing.
Man is going through a lot, in despair and he's lonely.
Pretty sure the man that went to Yamagami's house was Maede.
Hopefully we'll see Maede soon (he might be a vampire or he's hiding somewhere)

Shuutarou is fantastic to watch, he is definitely one of the best characters in this show, right next to Maeda. He seems to be going a bit crazy, maybe from a lack of blood and loneliness but that should be solved now. He's so selfless wondering and wandering around trying to find his friends and making sure everyone is ok. I love this guy. I hope he reunites with Maeda next episode, that would be fun.

I feel like this was the best episode, Shuutarou really was great to watch and a lot of the scenes and ideas (like the government vaccinations making people vampires and the vampire units turning on each other) were super interesting, this might even be the best episode of the series, in all but one aspect. I normally don't care enough about the art to a point where it bothers me but the art in this episode was terrible.

Unintentionally funny faces, expressionless movement (like him yelling at the vampire units ~20:40), scenes that seemingly jump from one to the other as if they were rushed ("We made it somehow").

This was a otherwise fantastic episode but the art really was subpar (not like it bothers me). Can't wait for the next one though.

Hmm, this episode wasn't that interesting but it's not boring aswell. Another thing I like about Mars Red. I'm confident that Maeda is a vampire now and tries to hunt the general down and have a serious talk with him or maybe even a fight. I wonder how strong he is and what type of vampire he is.

I felt really sad when I saw Yamagamis wife smiling trough pain, I thought that she was a vampire at first because of her wierd/mysterious behaviour and words but she is just a human and she truly met her husband one last time before he departed, her everlasting love was actually beautifull, I'm happy that they atleast had that chance...

I'm excited to see the next episode though :)

One can hardly believe so, but it would seem the plot has thickened yet again.

If only the visual fidelity remained quite as contstant in its improvement...

That aside, until the last scene I would still have believed Maeda refused the blood and died a human death. That no longer seems to be the case.

I wonder where he went...

Am I the only one that found it kind of funny that the vaccines given out by the army caused people to turn into vampires considering we are all getting vaccines now.

I am happy that Kurusu is getting the spotlight right now, him and Yamagami are my favourite characters.

After 2 of the best episodes in the series, this episode was pretty underwhelming. The animation wasn’t very great as usual, but the story in this episode wasn’t that engaging. It was just Kurusu wandering around and whining that he can’t find anyone in his unit. The OST didn’t do anything special in this episode either. A pretty “eh” episode overall.

I'm gonna take a guess and say the purple-eyed Vampire Soldier is Maeda.
Nakajima always wanted him as the leader of his Vampire Unit, and seeing as that whole sequence occurred at headquarters, they were definitely within the area when Maeda would have first transformed into a Vampire

however, considering he went and dropped off the lighter, and that the last person to see him was the child vampire, I find it hard to believe that he would have been captured, in which case it's probably someone else from Zero. Still can't rule out he recapture.

Really nice episode with great plot points:
- Maeda is probably a vampire now
- the army is giving Ascra to people, but for what reason? to weed out "the weak"?
- that one special unit vampire with the purple eyes... what was up with that?

And more importantly, are we gonna see Drei-kun join that fight now that his "home" was turned into hell?

i just can't quite get into this

it's like it's trying to be edgy or something? idk. but it comes across as very disjointed and lackluster. most of the major plot points fail to "land" imo

5 or 6/10. but i gotta drop this. it's just not good enough. i'd rather give a different show a shot

Ah, there you are, boy. Kurusu actually got separated after being washed away from the quake that hit all over the place. Maeda kinda be saved, and i think he finally become the vampire by the look of him these episode.

Kurusu visited every places, where he can reach, hoping to meet with the others, even met Aoi without him can ever dare to face her eye-to-eye. Poor them. Well, after meeting with Yamagami wives, he might've had an idea of whats goin on there. But, things gotten more crazy in the society, forcing Kurusu to be a savior of some of them in the meaning time.

Fuckin Rufus and the old man spreading Ascra as a vampire vaccine, and transform every single shit into the red-eyed one, hoping to gain control the community, one day. Sure, the old man will be mad with quake. But seeing Rufus dancing and kicking the chair really an annoying view.

Tenmanya and his Head Clerk old vamp saved and used the hidden place to accommodate some manageable vamps. Its not an easy job for them both. But, well, thats the real example of dedication for you....

This episode felt okay for me. At first I was hyped but then I grew more bored with the obvious everything. Maeda is a vampire, which we knew already so is not really coming as a shock or anything for me personally when he goes to visit the wife of the dude who helped in saving his lame ass. Then we have the deal with the vaccines... Seriously, how long does it take for the general populace to figure out the shit they are getting handed is turning them into blood thirsty monsters? There is also the issue with the steampunk robot unit that was made to kill the vamps.

Which makes me wonder whats the point of mass converting people into vampires and then have those other vampires kill the first ones??? Is it to have quality vampires??? what are they gonna do about the food when they eventually end with only vamps? Idk those things really made me lose my suspension of desbelief for this one lol Rufus is a joy to watch tho.

I keep forgetting that Kurusu is one of the main characters. He may be powerful and sexy, but he still seems like such a side character. Maybe it's just because he hasn't affected the plot at all.

Something felt missing this episode. I don't get why. It felt like I'd skipped a scene or a whole episode.

They showed us how to kill these new kind of vampires. Can't wait till one of the lead characters uses the method.

Why does a vampire want to create more vampires? It's like you are purposely making your food inedible and scarce.

Who died at the end? I didn't get it.

Damn, they're handing out Ascra's under the pretense that it's a vaccine for vampire disease. That's fucked, but why though, do they want to turn the entire country into vampires or something? What's Rufus and Nakajima's end goal here? Pretty good episode, also a depressing one.

Kurusu is all alone now, but at least Aoi is still doing fine and energetic as always. Suwa and Takeuchi is probably still also alive somewhere, and Maeda is most likely that soldier that gave Yamagami's wife his lighter. Good to see Tenmaya doing fine and helping humans turned vampires. I assumed that vampire unit soldier that attacked his team would be Suwa or Takeuchi but, it was just acting up, so the vampire unit is not perfect. Looking forward to the next episode.

I guess this is where we finally transition into Kurusu being the main protagonist.

Very sad episode somehow. Humans being turned in zombie like vampires. Kurusu was searching for his crew. Meanwhile the elite special forces don't respond to speech. Anyway it's good that the focus of the episode was on Kurusu.

The pacing in this series is bizarre. Sometimes it feels like it's jumping around erratically trying to make something happen, then it takes it's time with little happening. Going back and forth between this story of the vampire squad and the story of Maeda and his fiance just feel like two disjointed narratives smashed together. I was on board for the first few episodes but it's not definitely the series I watch new episodes of last.

Love Kurusu's character. looked like the major visited Yamagami's wife to check up on her. That's nice. Might be just me but I can't recall any earthquake taking place. Could someone fill me on what happened there? I don't think it was in the last episode either. It may have slipped my mind. Thanks in advance!

The earthquake - a real one, the Great Kanto Earthquake - happened in episode 6 when Yamagami and Kurusu were trying to stop Maeda from drinking Ascra after the conv with Nakajima. It's also the reason why Yamagami had to die (in order to save Maeda) and Maeda had to become a vampire to survive. Also yeah, Kurusu best boi

Kinda curious to what the point of giving the Ascra to everyone is other than perhaps create a mindless vampire army. Also curious to what happened to Maeda

What's the point of turning randoms into vampires via "vaccine". It either turns them, kills then, or turns them into those mindless versions right? Is it just to justify having that mega vampire unit around ?

Also this is the second show I seen that takes place in this era that has an earthquake of similar magnitude happen. Makes me think it's based off a real event
